We have more talent on paper defensively than any team in the league. We should be a lot better than average in the NHL. If you don't think the defense has been sub-par, then you're an even bigger blind homer than everyone here thinks you are. Has nothing to do with half empty or full. Has to do with honesty and not being biased. The defense has not cut it this season.

Why would the Wings do this? The game is like 3 weeks away. Is he planning on getting injured before the game or something? If he's healthy, he should play, especially since he's never played in one before.

Honestly speaking, about 1/3 of the guys who get picked won't play, either due to injury or wanting to sit out. Happens that way in every league. Maybe Hank will get in that way.

Datsyuk is a better two-way player, but that doesn't necessarily mean Hank is the 2nd best player in hockey. There's a lot of forwards I would take over him.

Will the NHL even host this game if Crosby is still hurt?

Eventually, just like last year, these injuries will result in some kind of skid. The defense and goaltending have been poor all season, and it's hard to outscore teams every game when you have so many important players out. As far as I know, it'll still be a few weeks before either Datsyuk or Cleary can play, while Modano and Stuart will be out even longer. And that's supposing no one else gets hurt until then, which at this point is a laugh. I'll be very impressed if this team is still atop the Conference a month from now.

If Howard makes the ASG, then I'll stop watching hockey. He doesn't even remotely deserve to be in this game. As for Zetterberg, he should have made it, but his destiny is to not play in this game. Hasn't he been named to several All Star Games, but had to sit out due to injury?

With those grades, you'd think we were undefeated this season. Little too generous there. We're having a good year, but we're not the '77 Canadiens. There are some weaknesses on this team. Howard and Rafalski should be graded lower.

Awesome game by Howard and the whole team. Vancouver has a team full of divers. Starts with the Sedin *******, then Burrows (maybe the best in the NHL), and ends with that overrated piece of s*** Luongo. f*** you Vancouver. Hope you never win the Cup.
