Shut up Pierre. Go blow your boy Crosby, wherever he is.
-
Wings should sign the goalie Bobrov tomorrow.
-
They were lazy. Played hard early on and then felt too comfortable to put up the same effort in the 3rd. They got what they deserved.
-
BTW, these Russians are shouting all kinds of obscenities in Russian. I'm guessing the Canadian cameraman had no idea what they were saying.
-
Serves these lazy ass Canadians right for celebrating too early. The Russian pro team could take a lesson from these kids and how hard they played in this game. That makes up for the choke they had a few years ago against Canada.
-
Holy s***! I left for about an hour, and now it's 3-3.
-
Winning is more fun when you can also punch people in the face. Just ask the Pens and Flyers.
-
These Russian defensemen are making Brett Lebda look like Nicklas Lidstrom. I've never seen such terrible positioning and stick work. They look like hockey novices out there.
-
That was just American propaganda. We all know North American athletes are the ones who always use steroids and get in trouble for them. I just think Drago could be a good mascot for the Russians, despite Dolph being a Swede and all (wonder if he knows Lidstrom? )

Good points. Plenty of tough guys out there putting up as many numbers as 4th line non-fighters. If those non-fighters were so skilled, they'd be playing on the top 2 lines of their team. I think the Wings could benefit from a 6'4 or 6'5 fourth liner, who can lay out some great bodychecks. Helm and Eaves will check, but they're not very big and don't really wear down the defense very well. Bigger forwards can do that over the course of a game or playoff series. We never seem to have 4th liners like that, and I'm not even talking about fighting yet.

In case you're wondering who I'll be rooting for. Down goes Canada!
-
Enforcers help toughen up soft Euros, in order to ready them for a playoff run, by which point they'll be battle tested. Because there are certain fans here who are too in love with some useless 4th liners, to bear the thought of that player leaving for an enforcer in the lineup.

I joked last night that it may have been done on purpose. Or how about a black spotlight which blends in with the color of the puck?
-
I thought this thread would be about the goal light last night in Edmonton. That guy was a little too eager. Or it may be a malfunction from the 80's, when it went off all the time.

I have a new favorite poster now on LGW.

Helm and Draper in the same game.
-
Our top players have been invisible since the midway point. Since then, all I've seen is Draper, Draper, Draper. That's not a good sign.
-
You know the Oilers suck when they allow a give and go to Helm and Draper of all people.
-
If Hudler doesn't challenge MacIntyre here, I'm officially losing all respect for him.

Crosby is the best player in the league. I've seen players put up 100 point seasons in the West before, so I don't know why he wouldn't if he was playing out West. Also, Vancouver is highly unproven in the playoffs, with the Pens and Flyers both being better playoff teams, imo. Both conferences have the same amount of Cup contenders, and both have their fair share of lousy teams. Travel is a different story, but I think too much gets made out of that. Otherwise, every team in the West would be too tired by SCF time to ever win the Cup.
-
Yes. See my post above.

That was North America vs. the World. According to wikipedia, Shanahan, Fedorov, Hasek and Lidstrom were the starters. Obviously, Shanny was not playing for the same team as the other three guys. Chelios was also playing, but not starting. I guess with that format, there's more potential for a single team to have 5 guys playing in an ASG, and 4 of them starting. Still, that wasn't the year I was thinking of. I was thinking of recent history and the current Wings team.
-
We did many years ago. There were like 3 or 4 Wings starters named a few years back (can't remember when), even though someone always sat out with an injury.
-
The West is not better. There's as many serious Cup contenders in the East as in the West.
