Well, I don't expect him to become some great sniper on the PP, but he does have a better shot than say Fillpulla. His problem would be that he's not a great playmaker or set up man, but it'd still be worth trying because he can shoot and will crash the net.

Hudler is playing better than Crosby the last 2 games.
-
Stats are meant to be abused severely.
-
Have Hudler and Homer ever played together?
-
If it's 4-4 and someone scores the 5th goal with say 4 minutes left, and the game ends 5-4, you could then say that the other 4 goals were just as important as the go ahead goal. Hence, every goal counts equally, no matter when scored.
-
About time. The Sutter family has kept the Flames in the toilet for way too long.
-
I guess you could look at it that way, but I don't think all goals are equally important. Otherwise, even your proposal is pointless, because any of the other goals scored in the game become just as important as that goal in the last five minutes.
-
Does that look like a man with problems?
-
And he always chickened out when challenged. No one says he isn't a good player. We just don't like his diving antics and his constant attempted comebacks and joining teams mid season. He's just annoying.
-
Then the goal was just enough for the win, and more than just padding stats at the end of the day. That's a lot more impressive then giving out a GWG in a 5-1 game, as said by previous posters. Also, I was thinking more of a scenario where it's a close game, where having a GWG then becomes a big deal and is considered clutch.

Nothing unusual. Probert and McCarty were known to have drinking problems of their own. There's probably a lot more untreated cases around the NHL that we never hear about.
-
7 powerplays versus 0? What ever happened to evening it up?
-
You may be the best poster on LGW, but I will never agree with you on this Forsberg thing. Especially if you're not willing to admit that he was the "king diver" of the NHL.
-
Based on this thread, I think the NHL should only count GWG in games where a team only wins by 1 goal. Seriously.
-
Dude, he's been on the PP all year. Last night was just the first time he finally produced on it. I don't know how you can say he hasn't been on the top 6, when he's constantly getting time on the PP with the top players. Do you want Babcock to make him the #1 center or something?

The Divealanche are back! -
I don't think it's working well for the whole team, though. They've given up too many goals lately for a team with a great defense on paper.
-
This is some news to wake up too. Even if no other forward gets injured for the next month, we'll still have a tough time of it. The West is so close, that I wouldn't be surprised to see us out of the playoff picture by the end of January. Time to ramp up the defensive play, since our firepower has taken a big hit. Meanwhile, Hudler continues to be injury free.
-
Babcock breaking up the defensive pairings had something to do with it. Obviously, Lidstrom and Stuart aren't working out well together.
-
Total domination. This is how you take care of a weak team like the Wild.
-
I love Hudler. As does my boy Crymson.
-
Keep talking like that and you'll never hit 10,000 posts.
-
As much as I'd like to see the Triple-H line, Hudler and Homer will never play on the same line. Too weak defensively. I propose: Cleary - Zetterberg - Bertuzzi Franzen - Flip - Homer Abby - Helm - Eaves Enforcer - Draper - Enforcer

I don't know who is or isn't in his price range. I just know there's 2nd line centers around the NHL putting up better numbers. If that means we have to pay those guys more money, then so be it. Sometimes you have to pay up to get something good in return. There's obviously a reason why Flip isn't getting paid more, namely that he doesn't deserve it. You can compare him salary wise to some 3rd line scrubs around the league who make as much as he does, however, those guys don't play as big a role as he's being asked to play here.
