No one. In today's era, goalies are overrated. Some of the biggest name goalies suck in the playoffs, while faceless jobbers are playing in the Cup Finals. Just about every team is finding good goalies out of the minors no one has ever heard of, and those goalies are doing just fine. If I was building a team, I'd concentrate on everything else first, and then the goalie. The days of needing a Hasek, Roy, Brodeur, Belfour, etc. to win the Cup ended after the lockout. Funny how so many people mentioned Luongo, who hasn't made Vancouver a shred better since he got there, and Brodeur, who hasn't had a good playoff since 2003.

They're playing like I predicted they would. I would move Homer from the top line, but obviously, playing him and Hudler together wouldn't work defensively. Someone on that 3rd line should be demoted to the 4th line.

I already can't wait for the playoffs to begin. These last few games have been boring, with not much hitting and certainly not much enthusiasm from the crowd. I guess the stakes have to get higher or something. Maybe this next game will create some more spark. Hopefully.

Kiprusoff has notoriously had a weak glove side.
-
Refs have taken over the game.
-
Salei has to take a penalty in every freaking game.
-
When did the whistle blow? Commentators are talking about the wrong issue here.
-
Intent to blow the whistle.
-
Wonder how many fans are sleeping right now at the game? We're lucky the Wings are good every year, or this would be the easiest stadium in the league for opposing fans to play in. These echoes are a freaking joke.
-
Modano's jersey looks so pretty when he skates fast.
-
The JLA sounds like this game is being played at an indoor swimming pool. Just a bunch of echoes.
-
Hudler has to take a penalty to get noticed out there.
-
Dallas will win the Cup now that they've rid themselves of their two biggest problems.
-
Atlanta has never been a good sports town for attendance and support, period. Not fair to single out hockey on this.
-
More freaking stripes. I hate these stripes all over the NHL. When will this ugly fashion trend end?
-
I always wanted Vladislav Tretiak to play here in the 70's.

Why the overreaction? If you had bothered to read earlier, you'd have seen my proposal. I'm just talking about a reversion to the old point system. And yeah, I do have a problem with points being awarded for just about every possible thing aside from a regulation loss. I mean, if you lose in OT in the playoffs, you don't get squat. Why should it be different in the regular season?
-
If you give 3 points out for regulation wins, then teams will have even more inflated records and point totals. No reason to award more points. We need to award less.
-
I don't remember teams being any less aggressive in the past than they are now when it comes to OT play. You sort of said so yourself. Win/loss records and points are so inflated nowadays because of this blasted shootout.
-
Go back to the same format the league had 10 years ago. The OT will be 5 minutes of 4 on 4 like it is now. 2 points for a regulation win 0 points for a regulation/OT loss 1 point for a tie. This new proposal is just a silly format. 3 on 3 hockey? It's fun to watch, but it's not much more legitimate than having a shootout. I mean, how often do you see 3 on 3 during an actual game? Just another way to give out hokey points for entertainment value. What's so bad about having a tie? Just means neither team was good enough to win the game in actual play, hence neither team deserves the extra point.

Babcock looked like he was chewing Modano out at one point in the game. This isn't Dallas anymore, where everyone will bend over and take it from him. We don't like lazy floaters here in Detroit. And we have no sentimental feelings towards him either.

You wish. My mother only likes attractive, intelligent men.

I bet you've used that line before many times, right?

I'm convinced that we're Cup favorites again. Hold your horses Pittsburgh.
