I can't believe there's only been one powerplay in this game, with as much physicality as we've had.
-
Ericsson made an art form last year at leaving games because of injury.
-
This could be a rather interesting period if Anaheim continues to goon it up.
-
Getzlaf is going to lose all his hair over that one.
-
Haha! Looks like this will be a promising season for us. Our fortune has changed.
-
Pavel and Hank are flying out there tonight. Sadly, because of injuries and what not, we didn't see much of that last year. They were also split up for a long time. They belong on the same line together, and I think it's fair to say, they haven't had much success in their careers playing apart. At least not as much.

If I was sleeping next to Willa Ford, I wouldn't sleep all night either.

Maybe you should be a GM since you're so much smarter than the others. These players wouldn't have been signed by these teams if they were useless.

If only there were a way to put Meech's spirit into another body

There's never been anything wrong with his attitude, but he's simply not that good at any area of the game. -
The tough part for Ivanans is that this was his first game with Calgary, and he wanted to make a good impression as their enforcer. I feel bad for him that it wound up that way. Toughest job in sports is to go out there every night and fight the biggest, toughest guy on every team. That's the life of an NHL enforcer. I mean, how would you like to fight MacIntyre one night, and then someone like Boogaard the next night? It'll be interesting to see how he bounces back from this.
-
Ivanans is a pretty good fighter, and has never really been beaten badly, other than by Boogard maybe. He's always had a great chin. I hope he comes back OK, because he's one of the few Euro enforcers in league history. Better than Nazarov and Oliwa in my opinion.

Abdelkader out, Bertuzzi questionable for tomorrow's opener

Let me be the first to say that it's better to have these injuries now than in April. -
Apparently, the Sharks are content with having Joe Thornton as their enforcer.
-
Lidstrom is the best in the world at what he does, and he's ranked so low. What a joke.
-
Did Lidstrom retire?
-
If Ericsson needs confidence, he should just grab Patrick Kane in our first game, and start pounding away. That always seemed to give Ericsson more confidence in the past.
-
No move is a long term move when it comes to lines. Should we never discuss line combos and defensive pairings anymore?
-
I know that. I don't need Crosby-boy telling me that I was exaggerating. Ericsson will be getting more icetime with Lidstrom than anyone else even strength. He's not better than Kronwall, and belongs on the 3rd pairing even strength. I want to see Kronwall log some major minutes in the prime of his career. In the next year or two, he will be our number 1 defenseman, so it's time to see how he handles top line minutes and playing against the best players on the other team with Lidstrom.
-
So Kronwall is relegated to the 3rd pairing just because Ericsson isn't good enough to play with anyone but Lidstrom? That says all you need to know.
-
Shouldn't they both be on waivers in order to make room for Hordichuk?

I would actually overlook all the f***ups if that were to happen. -

I hope Salei is really good at diving pokechecks. -
Hordichuk = Stanley Cup for sure

Bulls***. Scarface came out that year. Metallica had their first album. Steve Yzerman joined the Wings. I was born. Best year ever!

My avatar only allows me to talk about "The Bad". Ericsson. Everyone else looked fine.
