Philly looks scared out there right now. The pressure of losing this game is getting to them on their previous PP chances. Finally they score on one. That was huge.

Only in game 7's.

I'm surprised, because he actually had a pretty good year. He accomplished pretty much everything a guy can accomplish in their career. Stanley Cup, Gold Medal, Norris trophy.

I can't believe this was written on the front page of a major worldwide known newspaper. What a joke. This is the kind of stuff I'd expect an elementary school newspaper to print. They need to grow up already in Chicago.

There isn't one big enough for her size, except for the one Bufflin is wearing.

Would a real gritty fighter help or hurt this team?

A guy who fights over 5 fights a season regularly. -
I could so totally beat that. I've been saving this "Yzerman" thread up for years. It may be time to unleash it.

Didn't the NBA (no touching league) release their schedule after the NHL did theirs?

Avery. He'll bring some hot celebs with him, which we haven't had since the days "dreamy" Anna Kournikova used to sit at the JLA press box.
-
I wish we could keep him, but there's only a few untradeable players on this team, imo. So it all depends on the deal as others have stated.

Any chance that Kevin Lowe jumps in and offers Bert $5 million per year?
-
Well, he knows how to party, so he'll be a great fit over there.

Doesn't every team have a fighter? -

I just realized that Leino kind of looks like Phil Anselmo from Pantera with that beard on his face. Scary avatar. -
We probably have a better chance of getting him than some of the other names people have been throwing around. Namely because he's older, and doesn't fight that much anymore. Buffalo may think he's expendable, whereas guys like Clarkson or Nystrom are more likely to be re-signed, or to have multiple teams pursuing them. Mair would not be the guy I'd be looking for to join us. There's better options out there, even though I think it'll be harder to land those other options.

They were underachieving earlier in the season, but are now playing at full potential, which is why some people picked them to go to the Finals before the season started. The Flyers at full potential, with their mix of skill and grit, are a dominant team, which isn't that much worse than Chicago. Your post sounds like it's coming from February, and not today. At this point there should be no surprise on your part. And the coaching change made them a better team. Laviolette is a more proven coach than Quenneville.

I'd trade my own wife for Clarkson to be in Detroit. If I had a wife that is. -
I dare someone to start a "Why Lidstrom" thread now, based on the good vibes this OP has gotten here.

The Flyers actually have a good team on paper. Two great scoring lines + Giroux, great checkers all around, and pretty solid top 4 defensemen. They're weak in net, but Chicago hardly has a big name back there themselves. I do think Chicago has a bit more scoring depth, but Philly has a pretty loaded team on paper, thus the series should be close, contrary to what you say.

A tougher player can only rub off on the rest of the team. It helps to have a guy that can energize the team with some big hits and can stand up for players when need be. You want your team to have all the dimensions and be well rounded. I don't see how that player can hurt the team, unless he takes stupid penalties all the time. However, that depeneds on the particular player, so it's unfair to stereotype that against fighters in general. As for offensive production, once again, that depends on the player. It doesn't hurt to have 4th liners that can score, but if they're soft and don't know how to check (Williams), then they don't help on the 4th line no matter how much they can score. 4th line is for energy and hitting first and foremost. Scoring is secondary when it comes to choosing a tough guy. We don't need our enforcer to play on the top line after all. -
Imagine if he wasn't scratched for the first 4 playoff games.

After the first period I think. They were down 3-0 and he wasn't looking too confident. The Wings looked tired and hurt by game 6 and 7 last year. Game 5 was our last gasp. I don't think the Hawks look tired and jaded. They're on a mission to win the Cup and it'll take some amazing effort by the Flyers in game 7 to pull it off. Or maybe Leighton will have to stand on his freaking head in game 7. I do think they'll win game 6, though.

Yeah, no kidding. He's been too full of himself listening to the media hype his ass, that he forgot to show up tonight. But like I've said already, that top line for them should take most of the blame.

You gotta be careful around me. That was too easy a setup.
