I actually hope the series goes 7, and the Flyers win in front of that stupified crowd in Chicago. Then I won't feel as bad about us losing game 7 last year at home.

You do realize that when we say we want a tough guy, we're referring to a fighter? You can't then take that and say, "well Datsyuk is tough". We don't care if you think Datsyuk is tough. We're talking about tough guys/fighters/enforcers.

I agree, although he is a rather physical defenseman, especially for a Euro. Not quite Danny Markov like, but not bad. The best D-man out there right now is Volchenkov, but he's going to want lots of money.

Colorado Rockies could be another one of those forgotten franchises. Of course they used to be the Scouts before they became the Devils. Very strange history there.

Whalers and North Stars. Both of their jerseys were the best I've ever seen in sports. I pick the Whalers, though, if I could only choose one. Honorable mention goes to Golden Seals. Their different jerseys were just totally wacky. Also, I've spent a lot of time in KC, but if they ever get a hockey team, I hope they don't call them the Scouts or use those horrible uniforms they wore.

By tough, we're talking about tough guys, namely players who can handle themselves well in fights. When you start mentioning Datsyuk as tough, that's when you get into that "team toughness" phrase. Datsyuk is not tough in the traditional hockey sense of tough guy, so I wish you guys would stop calling him that. And what makes Asham tougher than Eager? I think they're about equal fighters. How does Asham play tougher or fight tougher?

That 70's team was nowhere near the toughest in league history, but for their time, they were tougher than any other team relative to their era. No team in the mid 70's even came close to the Flyers style of playing and their amount of fighting majors. That's what separated them from the rest of the pack, namely how far ahead of their time they were. Teams in the future tried to adopt their bullying tactics, but by then, fighting had become more common in hockey, with teams frequently carrying multiple enforcers on the roster.

I wonder how "Eager" he would be to play here? Oh and this "team toughness" talk is so 2007, guys. Babcock and Holland have stated their belief in having a tough guy in the lineup. Come off it already.

You guys are all saying what I said a few days ago, and I got attacked for it by some of the dumb Hawks lovers on this site. It's good to see that LGW is back to being a Wings friendly site. No more Hawks obsession. They're our freaking rivals for crying out loud, and their entire fanbase hates the Wings and always roots "Red Wings Suck". I'm supposed to cheer for them in the Finals just because of one gap-toothed idiot being on the other team? I don't think so.
