I don't think he was better this year than last year. You can say that about the whole team I guess, but I think we've seen his peak as a player. Hopefully he stays at this level for a few more years. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just another biased LGW member who expects Datsyuk to score 120 points next year and for Hank to hit 50 goals, while Hudler scores 80 points. Tired of these unrealistic expectations. He didn't have the kind of season a guy like that should have had.

I don't think TV ratings will be that high, however, since the games are being played on a different continent with incovenient times for the games. I'd like to see NHL players there, but don't expect a repeat of exposure that these past Olympics got in the US.

If Canadians love hockey so much, why aren't they willing to watch two American based teams playing in the Winter Classic? Why can't they realize that most NHL teams are based in the US and that the NHL doesn't want two Canadian teams playing each other, because that would ruin TV ratings in America.

I'm guessing that Yzerman will heavily target former or current Wings players, to try and draw them to Tampa. We see this all the time in sports, when a new coach or GM tries to bring in players that they're familiar with and have played with before. I don't think any star players will follow him there, but I wouldn't be surprised if guys like Maltby or Draper end up finishing their careers in Tampa now. Maybe Lilja if the Wings don't bring him back. Hey, when is Fedorov's contract up in Russia? Anyway, I expect to see an increase in former Wings players on Tampa's roster.

As I've said before, the Sharks original jerseys are still my favorite of theirs. The orange and the stripes just look annoying to me. There's plenty of dumb jerseys in hockey (hell I started a thread on that several months back), but the Sharks should be left out of these discussion imo.

How about an outdoor softball game between the Penguins and the Lakers?

Hey, Williams and Yzerman played on the same line in 2006. I wouldn't be surprised if Stevie had some input on him coming back to Detroit in the first place (God I hope not). I've always liked the San Jose logo. I guess in hindsight, they could just have a mean looking shark without a hockey stick, but they felt like throwing a hockey reference in there. NBA has a similar thing with basketballs being put into just about every logo. Way better than the Hurricanes "rose" logo, or the Ducks "no logo".
