Just when I thought he couldn't suck any more, he puts up this effort to cement this thread. He's lucky Team Canada bailed him out this season, cause in retrospect, he played rather poor in the Olympics and had trouble handling pucks. He's just not a clutch goalie. Period.

Luongo is the worst goalie in the NHL and Bieksa should just stick to fighting non-fighters. If I was Vancouver, I'd trade Bieksa, and make Luca Brasi force Luongo to change his conctract.

Are they going to develop Lebda and Williams into elite players? I hope Babcock is just full of it.

Sucks how we got eliminated before anyone else. Either we didn't want it as bad as these other teams, or the Sharks just have more killer instinct than the other teams who were on the verge of advancing.

Brashear is washed up. My point was just common sense. If you're going into a brawl, you're going to act tougher knowing that you have some muscle behind you, than knowing that you don't have it behind you. A player as soft as Leino just needed someplace that could toughen him up. He found it in Philly apparently.

Hartnell is tougher that what Leino had to play with here in Detroit. Even Briere has acted like a wannabee tough guy since joining the Flyers, where in Buffalo he was as quiet as it gets. In any case, I was talking about the whole team philosophy and not just his linemates. If Leino didn't buy into their style of play, he wouldn't be playing for them.

Leino is playing well because he's surrounded by tough guys. Like newfy suggested in another thread, players play with more balls when they are in a tough lineup. I remember the HBO Flyers documentary this past weekend, where the players said the same thing. Leino is just feeding off the Flyers aggressive style of play by actually playing with grit and going to scoring areas. If anyone messes with him, he knows his players have his back.

That just proves that it's not who you are, but who you know. Holland may want to sign that kid just to keep Lidstrom happy.

We don't need to sign any free agents. Kirk Maltby is coming back healthy next year, so that's our free agent acquisition. Sorry, but that's what Holland always says at the trade deadline.

Game 7 against Phoenix was really good. Probably our best game of the season.

Exactly. I realize people here love these players, but the team comes first. That's why I said it's time for guys like Draper and Maltby to move on. We need to clear up some cap space somehow. The cap has hurt us the last few years, especially with our inability to make deadline moves. -
Good to see a team actually winning on the road when down 3-1. Ouch.

It'll be Pens and Hawks in the Finals, despite what we may want. Good luck picking a team to cheer for in that sad affair.

Changing a few players is not the same thing as blowing up a team. This team is not just fine the way it is. Otherwise, we wouldn't be getting eliminated in the 2nd round. We didn't play well in these playoffs against either Phoenix or San Jose. Our record in these playoffs was 5-7. That suggests a team that needs some changes. -

Pathetic is the Sharks playoff history. They won't win the next series anyway, so at the end of the year, the season will be a disappointment to you too. No way they get unfair PP advantages against the Hawks like they did against us.

Yeah, and I just realized this is my first year on LGW when we won't be going to the Finals. Boy if you guys thought I was bad before....
