WCSF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

If Draper doesn't have a big period here, we're simply doomed.

WCSF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

Zetterberg has to wake up and start shooting the damn puck.

We are getting nothing offensively. It's apparent that the Wings last offensive gasp was in game 4. Howard is the only way we can win tonight.

    Fess Up!

I'm ready to bash the team at the first sign of losing today. I guess that means I'm expecting a good, desperate performance from us tonight.

    HBO Broadstreet Bullies Documentary

I was wondering if anyone will be watching the "Broadstreet Bullies" documentary on HBO these next few days, about the Flyers teams back in the heyday? I watched it this morning, and thought it was very interesting, and would reccommend it even for fans who don't like the fisticuffs aspect of hockey. Say what you want about those teams, they were controversial, and had a huge influence on hockey in general. Also, it's not often that HBO does a show about hockey. Anyway, check your listings because it'll be on these next couple of days, and will be on today at 1:30 ET as the next showing.

    HBO Broadstreet Bullies Documentary

Yeah, the footage was awesome and is the best footage I've ever seen from those days in terms of quality of video. Also, I never knew that the Soviets came back to finish the game after leaving the ice. I thought the game just ended with them leaving.

    IIHF All star Centennial team

Those other players on the list played a lot more international hockey than him, however.

    IIHF All star Centennial team

This list would make more sense if Gretzky wasn't on it. Then you could say that the list was based on players who played international hockey.

Luongo Not the Answer for Vancouver

Their defense is playing no worse than Montreal's defense. If he's so great, he should be able to outplay Niemi and handle a barrage of shots by Chicago. But goals like that final goal Kopecky scored can't be blamed on the defense. He just can't hold on to a puck right now.

WCSF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

If we don't win this game, our season is over. Been saying it all year, so I think it's appropriate now to say it.

Luongo Not the Answer for Vancouver

Well, the contract is the norm for what's happening right now with superstar players unfortunately. Everyone gets these long contracts now. When he got it, it looked like a good move, but he hasn't earned it a bit because the playoffs is what they brought him in for. They were already making the playoffs every year without him.

Possibility that Williams plays Game 5

Did Brad May s*** in Babcock's pool for him to not even be considered over those 2 players? Ritola isn't used to big games and Williams is used to ******* up in them. Give May a chance to come out there and give the 4th line some energy. This is his month of the year, literally.

    Tomas Kopecky

When was the last time Kopecky and Samuelsson scored in the same game?

    Hal Gill penalty watch thread

It's amazing to me that Hal Gill has survived the "new NHL". This pylon interferes on every shift if you watch him closely.

    Todd Bertuzzi

If I'm not mistaken, his playoff numbers this year exceed the usual Hudler playoff numbers for us. Hudler is younger than him, which is the only long-term advantage of keeping him over Bertuzzi. Doesn't matter if he leaves the team again, however. At the end of the day, though, I'd rather have Bertuzzi than Hudler.

how not to play a 2-on-1

It amazes me how Rafalski even at his late age still has such s***ty defensive awareness. He should have just fallen face first on the ice and done us a favor by blocking the passing lanes.

    Get well soon Matt.

    game after a blowout win

Happens all the time in the NHL. In the last series, we got beat badly in game 6 at home, and then did the same to Phoenix in game 7.

Detroit is old and one win wont change that.

I thought when we got rid of Chelios, the old talk would stop.

    Ritola

Williams should take Franzen's spot in the lineup for next game.

WCSF Game 4 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 7

Holy s***! I totally forgot that I wrote that. What a prophecy. Actually, it was more of a prayer than anything else on my part.
  23. GMRwings1983

    My guarantee!

Take it easy there tiger. One win at a time. If we win game 5, that hardly means we have the series in hand. Remember Dallas in 2008? We need to put forth a perfect effort each game and it won't be as easy as you make it sound.

    Stanley Cup Winner?

As they say in French.... Je ne sais pas

WCSF Game 4 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 7

Only thing I'm worried about is how convincingly we beat them. Sometimes that can hurt you for the next game. Remember how Phoenix embarrassed us at home in game 6? We destroyed them the next game, of course.
