What's the over/under on how many powerplays the Pens get here in the 3rd?

What the f*** is Babcock doing? Brad May should play. He'd come out hitting like a maniac and would give great energy to the 4th line. Williams and Draper are both useless, and will just hold Helm back. Worst checking line in the NHL right here and it should have been May Day on it to bolster it.

And yesterday was May Day. Too bad we couldn't play yesterday. That would have been special.

I remember Hudler was having a good playoff last year until he got leveled by Brown against Anaheim. He didn't seem to compete as hard after that, and we needed him to with other guys being hurt and Hossa playing like s***. I still say the jury is out on his toughness and willingness to play gritty when time and space are taken away. As others have said, this isn't the KHL and there isn't as much room in the NHL to make fancy plays. I don't mind us going after him, but in no way should it be our biggest need in the offseason.

Are you one of those LGW posters who thinks that hitting and fighting equates with dirty? You took what I said and inflated it to some ridiculous level of nonsense. I was talking about big guys who can check. Guys like Helm and Draper will throw hits, but they're not liable to hurt or wear down the opposition as much as a bigger checker could. Go watch the KHL if you don't agree with what I said. We lacked offense because of injuries. That's the only reason. Don't know why you complimented the other poster for his foolish post that had nothing to do with anything I said. I was referring to clean hits from bigger forwards. Bad one.

Dropping Lilja makes us less Canadian. As far as I'm concerned, he's attained citizenship in that country. We need to beef up our bottom 6 forwards. Our guys play hard, but they have to be the smallest bottom 6 forwards in the NHL. I want some 6'4 or 6'5 checkers out there who can hurt people with hits. What does Hudler give us that we don't already have? If he was as good as people here think he is, the Wings would have given a better effort to keep him.

How about a "Gary Bettman Award" for best commissioner of the year?

He plays for the Pens. That's a good enough reason for me and for most posters apparently.

As I said yesterday, it seems like 3 years since we last had a comeback in the 3rd period of a playoff game. If I'm not mistaken, I think the last time was that game against San Jose where Lang scored with the goalie pulled. Now we've had some good playoff runs the last few years and have had tremendous talent, yet for some reason we're just not a come from behind team. Why? I will give us credit for protecting leads very well in 3rd periods over that stretch, but unfortunately it hasn't worked the other way around. With other teams pulling off two or three goal comebacks all the time, it'd be nice to see us do it too. Seems like when we go into the 3rd trailing, the game is over. I hope this changes soon.

Yeah, when we're tied or have the lead. I don't think 14 games from one team is a small sample size. I realize that most teams lose when trailing going into the 3rd, but it'd be nice to see it just once from us. Who knows, maybe it'll happen tomorrow, although I hope we don't go into the 3rd trailing tomorrow.

Who says that Homer and Bertuzzi won't both be back? Bertuzzi has had a good season here all things considered. Good playoff so far as well. Homer has had a good regular season also.

If the Blackhawks are going to win the Stanley Cup with Niemi as their goalie, then I'm Elvis Presley. This guy sucks.

It should be called the "Brian Burke Award" A better idea is to have a "Bob Probert Award" for best fighter in the NHL every year. O.K., who's the Probert hater here? Show some love for the guys willing to do the dirty work for the pretty boy star players. They deserve their own award too.

How about Brad May? He'll come out fired up for a game like this. He'll also give us some needed physicality against a bigger Sharks team. I say he plays before Williams or anyone else does?

Wher'e does he fit in with this team? I don't see him playing on the top 6, but then again he's not a bottom 6 forward either. We could use his depth, but I doubt he wants to play here as some guy with limited minutes that has to rotate games.

Thanks for researching all that. I knew it was bad, but 0-14 is worse than I thought. That isn't very hopeful in all honesty if we go into the third trailing. I don't think we even forced OT in those 14 games. We've actually been about .500 in the Babcock era in OT. It's the Dave Lewis era and the end of the Bowman era when we were atrocious in playoff OT's. We seemed to lose every game we played in OT.

Yeah, Eaves has been invisible in these playoffs. He was much better in the regular season, but that's probably because we had many injuries and more was expected from him. That line is the same way. Eaves/Helm/Draper was good for us at one time, but it's been forever since they've done anything out there that produced a goal. I doubt Williams will be an improvement, though, especially against a physical San Jose team.

Time to watch the horsies get ridden by elves. Bettman will be embarrassed yet again.

Philly and Boston have had their share of injuries this year. Last year the hockey gods gave you a hurt Red Wings team in the Finals. They've made up for it by giving you a s***ty Senators team and a s***ty Canadiens team for opponents. The hockey gods can kiss my ass.

That feed worked well for me in the regular season, but in the few playoff games I've watched on it, it borrowed from other feeds, and it wasn't as good. I'm sure I'll find a feed for the game, but of course it's a shame that it can't be watched on the TV. It's not exactly a preseason game.

atdhe works like 40% of the time I try to use it. It's hardly reliable. I don't mind internet streams in the regular season, but for the playoffs I'd like something better. Every boring ass NBA playoff game gets televised.

Yeah, but you don't necessarily need PP's to come back from a one-goal deficit. We should have enough firepower to be a better come from behind team in the third, even if it's just 5 on 5 play. Besides, we've gotten our fair share of powerplay chances in most of these games. Remeber games 6 and 7 against the Pens? We had several PP's in the third period of those games but couldn't tie it up.
