I posted a meaningful and true thread about our 3rd period play in the playoffs over the years, and you posted squat, which is about all you can contribute anymore to this forum. You were trolling from the very first post. Of course I'm going to get on you for doing that. I wasn't necessarily talking about 3 goal deficits, I was talking about any deficit going into the 3rd. But yeah, that is a weird stat.

I hope we don't need it, but it'd be nice knowing that we can do it. Like I said, we're good in the 3rd when we're tied or ahead, but not when we're behind. Now in the regular season we've had some good comebacks in the third but it's been a while since we've been able to do it well in the playoffs. Yesterday we had some good chances but just couldn't capitalize on it late.

Eagles my ass. Philly and Boston should have played yesterday, seeing how those two teams haven't played in a while, especially Philly. As some posters joked last night, I'm surprised Montreal wasn't forced to play yesterday.

For those still complaining about the officiating, as I said yesterday, a team has to overcome adversity. Against Phoenix, we got jobbed at the end of the 2nd period, but overcome adversity to kill that 5 on 3, and that won the game for us. Last night, we were in the same boat but couldn't do anything with our PK. If we killed off that 5 on 3, we may have won the game. Two similar situations, but the Wings responded differently to them. Also, Howard has to be better. The GWG was an Ozzie 5-hole special. Howard hasn't looked consistently confident in these playoffs so far. He's not stringing good games together and that's a problem.

What's up with us losing game 1's all of a sudden? I don't like this starting on the road thing.

I know the officiating was a joke, but our special teams ultimately cost us the game. You have to do a better job of overcoming adversity, and we didn't. Back to the drawing board on special teams. No consistency from game to game.

Unless I'm mistaken, the last time we came back in the 3rd period in the playoffs was against San Jose back in 2007?

I guess we've had a good period making up for one goal, but our PP has left a lot to be desired. We've had plenty of chances to tie the game.
