At this point, I'm not too sure that Washington could beat Pittsburgh. The Pens are a more complete team than Washington, despite what happened between them in the regular season. The Caps just look like total s*** right now. The way the Wings are playing right now, we'd be lucky to make it to the second round.

That's what I've been saying all year, but people here were too in denial to admit that. They are the most complete and battle tested team in the East.

If Washington loses this series, you can just give the Pens the Stanley Cup. They'll own the rest of the East with Jersey and Washington out, which were the only teams they match up poor with. Meanwhile, whoever comes out of the West will have to go through hell.

Look at it this way. A bunch of teams have already clinched their series this year on the road. San Jose, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Philly. None of those teams were even facing elimination. In our case, we can also clinch on the road, but unlike those teams, we are facing elimination. So far, home ice has been meaningless since everyone seems to be losing big games at home.

Wow, I haven't even considered that this may be Lidstrom's last game. This sucks. I don't think I'll ever watch a player better than him in my life. I'm too young to remember Gretzky and Lemieux in their prime. I hope he ends his career better than Yzerman did in Edmonton.

This series has been a disappointment. The way the Wings finished the season, I figured they'd have enough in them to make a deep playoff run, especially since many of our players were fresh having missed most of the season. Instead, this team is playing nothing like it did since the lockout. It's almost as if they used up all their energy in making the playoff push, and were satisfied with just making it in. This doesn't look like a group of players who are on a mission and are ready to make a playoff run.

Versus won't televise it. They're showing a 2 hour documentary detailing the Pens Cup run last year. O.K. this is an old joke but it's still funny.
