Cleary hasn't produced all year and he's a much better fit for the bottom two lines. Holmstrom has had a good season and is not a guy that knows what he's doing on the 4th line. Seems very simple to me.
-
Our bottom two lines are easily outplaying our top two lines. Also, if not for Lilja, we'd be down 3-1 right now.
-
Babcock has officially neutered and spayed Holmstrom. He's totally useless right now on that line.
-
Everytime Bertuzzi has the puck, I expect him to do something stupid. The guy needs to stop fanning on good passes too. His one timer is a joke right now and he can't handle any pass.
-
I wonder what the record is for home teams in these playoffs? Home ice advantage is completely meaningless.
-
So is this Crosby's fault for not ending the game sooner?
-
He's always been a team guy, but I've never really liked him, even before the whole Lidstrom hit. He's always been a boring fighter to watch and has a lot of non-fighters on his fight card. Also, he has to be a candidate for the "Mike Ricci Award".

I just know that the NHL media will blame Kovalchuk or Jersey's other offensive stars, and will leave Brodeur mostly free of blame. I hate that he has earned some kind of immunity for winning Cups by playing on defensive minded teams that employed the "trap". He deserves a lot of blame in this series and for their previous playoff failures. No way should "the greatest goalie ever" (yeah right) be outplayed by Brian Boucher.
-
I have a bad feeling for this game and the rest of the series. I hope I'm wrong.
-
Why is this a surprise? Philly has owned Jersey all year. Brodeur has now been outplayed in the playoffs since the lockout by guys like Ray Emery, Brian Boucher and Cam Ward. Yet no one in the hockey media is as willing to criticize him as they are willing to suck him off whenever Jersey wins. I'm tired of the blind love Fatso gets. I did, and I also picked Boston to beat Buffalo. I'm on pace to go 8-0 right now the way things are looking. First time for everything I guess.

Lilja is playing for us.
-
Worst part about it is the announcers constantly saying otherwise.
-
Puck first my ass. Collision came first.
-
Orpik is the master of interference.
-
Wow, another penalty. The ref is upset with the Pens for not scoring on their PP.
-
Too many right handed shots. Kind of the opposite of our PP. Looks like the Pens will get another OT victory on the PP. They must have the record for these.
-
Why would any player distinctly try to kick it into the net knowing that it'll be overturned?
-
I wonder what the call would have been if Crosby scored like that?
-
And once again God gets what he wants. This is getting ridiculous and too obvious. Conspiracies are supposed to be more subtle.
-
I hope this ends quickly, so I can go watch Once Upon A Time in the West on TCM. Oh, look the Pens get another break.
-
Isn't this the bitter end? I mean how much worse can it get after this? They made the biggest acquisition of the NHL season, and still choked in the first round. Yeah, but I hate it when the Wings play in OT in the playoffs.
-
I want Ottawa to win, but I don't see them winning here in game 5. This means all the series have now gone into OT, except for our series and the Chi/Nash one. We may be due for an OT game tomorrow night.
-
Funny how no one thought Ottawa could score goals in this series. Instead, their offense has been great, but the defense and goaltending has let them down.
-
You should have paid more attention to the regular season. The Flyers went 5-1 against New Jersey. They have their number. Pens were owned by Jersey this season, so this is great for them. Kovalchuk had a good playoff. The bust was the guy with the big bust in net. Brodeur at this point in his career is a playoff choker.
-
So will Jersey gut their team in the offseason after choking in the playoffs yet again? Like I've been saying for years, without Stevens, Niedermayer and Rafalski, and that "trap" style of hockey, they can't win s***. Brodeur has taken too much credit for winning Cups, when the credit should mostly have gone to their boring system of hockey. Since the lockout he and their team have been a joke in the postseason. Oh and I've officially given up trying to predict the Col/SJ series.
