Hard to say. It's difficult to gut a team that you know will finish first or second in the Conference every year. Most teams in the league would take that success in a heartbeat. However, if they lose this series, they do need to dump at least 2 of their top 3 players, meaning Thornton, Nabokov and Marleau. It may mean rebuilding their team, but if they're serious about the Stanley Cup, that's what they need to do, even if it means suffering in the short term.

Yeah, he played really well and it's good to see that line wake up again. They had disappeared for a while there. I for one want to take credit for that whole line's success, because after reading my thread, they decided to step up. In Flip's case, he excels in these kinds of games where there's lots of room and constant end to end rushes.

Why oh why did Babcock bench Abby after game 2 of the Finals last year? Like I said earlier, he's scored in his last three playoff games.

If you play with fire, you're going to get burned. The Coyotes don't have the talent to play this style of hockey against us. They tried to make this a track meet, and wound up giving up 7 goals. I expect Phoenix to try and be smarter next game and to go back to playing their type of hockey that Dave Tippett likes.

Win or lose, our defense took the night off in this game. It's one thing if Phoenix does it, but we should be better than that. Too undisciplined and to play that way with a lead in the 3rd is inexcusable.
