He's been great since he's come back and has worked well with Helm and Eaves. I've been pleased with his recent resurgence.

Wow, what a bunch of soft Europussies! We've got this thing in the bag. -
Howard Becomes Yet Another Different Wings Playoff Starter

SirDrake? -
If the playoffs began today, Colorado, Los Angeles and Phoenix would all be in. Before the season, no one in their right mind would have predicted success for any of those teams. I can't even remember the last time Phoenix or LA made the playoffs. So which of these teams (if any) do you see as making the playoffs and which do you see as being a threat in the playoffs? Conversely, which team will fizzle out as the season goes on?
-
San Jose usually loses in the second round, yet people are acting like they always lose in the first round. Last year they played a tough Ducks team which almost knocked us out of the playoffs. This Colorado team isn't nearly that good.

Jake Ryan forgot that both the Wings and Hawks can't finish as top 3 seeds.

I'm just going to ignore your remarks, because it's not worth it. I just think it's interesting to read over this thread and see people expecting these younger teams to fold, myself included.
-
Yeah, but they scared the s*** out of us in both series. They've played us tough in regular seasons and playoffs with their style of hockey. I'd rather avoid that team altogether.
-
Maybe you should start your own thread about that since you still seem to care so much. This thread was about Colorado, Phoenix and LA.
-
Just thought I'd revisit this thread that I started in December. Looks like none of those teams fizzled out. Phoenix, LA and Colorado all made it.

Why do you think Colorado has a chance against San Jose? I think they'll get obliterated as well.

Howard Becomes Yet Another Different Wings Playoff Starter

Maybe him more than anyone, but it's still a testament to the system in my opinion. Like I said, I can't think of any other dynasty that used so many goalies during their winning years. -
Howard Becomes Yet Another Different Wings Playoff Starter

Well, in all honesty, Howard is the first young goalie we've had since Osgood back in the 90's. Since then, we've been chasing after goalies in free agency. Some succeeded and some didn't, but the one constant has been that no one has stuck around here for long. -

This thread is not about which goalie should start. You should have read a little better before you posted. -
I think Chicago will handle Nashville easily. We always match up poorly with Nashville, but I don't think that's true for other teams. Chicago's defensive injuries will hurt them in later rounds, but probably not here.

4/11 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 2 (OT)

I believe they're playing the Devils and not Washington. -
Did Draper even play in this game?

As if the Flyers are going anywhere. Pumpkinhead just doesn't belong in the playoffs so of course he missed. -

See post above buster. The Hawks have no chance of competing with the Wings this season. You can beat the Grand Rapids Griffins in December, but no the Wings. -

Where's that dickhead Hawks fan who kept coming here in December telling us all about how great his team is? We're 3-0 against the Hawks this season when our roster has been healthy. We have their number, and they're in serious trouble having 2 of their top 4 defensemen injured. I hope Trasvhille beats them in the first round. -

This is how we were playing when we had an AHL lineup earlier this season. -

I'm very disappointed with the way the Wings have played in this game. We've been totally outmanned and outhustled by the Hawks, and are lucky that Howard came to play in this game, or else we'd be getting blown out. Our big guns need to have some sustained pressure offensively in the 3rd. We're better than the Hawks, especially with their depleted defense. No excuse for this s***. -
Yeah, that's a good point. Other than Williams, Eaves is our only right handed shot right now with Maltby not playing. I wonder how many other teams only have 1 or 2 players who shoot right handed?
-
I'd also like to see May with Abby and Miller. That would be a great checking line that could create some havoc. Draper has been invisible for too long now. He's no longer a solid checker either, unless pinning the puck along the boards counts as a bodycheck.

I have a couple of dozen cards, but from the early 90's when that kind of thing was at its peak. Same with the other sports.
