Well, people have brought up the winning streak here several times.

These stats dont' make any sense. They're only 2 games behind Colorado. How can their chances be 3%? It'd be more like 25% when you think about it with common sense. For instance, if they win tonight and Calgary loses, then that'll make the 3% look silly all of a sudden.

Because fans don't get excited over those other things. I doubt there's some secret legion of fans that trades videos of hooks and interference penalties like there are fight fans that trade fight tapes and talk about enforcers incessantly.

You guys do realize that just because we've gone on a winning streak here doesn't mean that enforcers are completely useless now in hockey. That argument can go both ways.

I don't think this is a revelation, although some here will disagree. I think the Wings euros played tougher in 2008 than they did in prior years, because it helped having guys like Mac, Downey and Drake in the lineup. It's just called leading by example. If your 4th line is out there hitting everything in sight and fighting from time to time, that'll spark the rest of the team to play tougher and more energetic as well. That's what the 4th line's job is. To stir the pot and spark the team.

Don't we play them this weekend? I see Leino scoring 3 goals and beating the s*** out of Datsyuk in a fight.

I wouldn't mind if they moved to Winnipeg. Attendance or not, Phoenix is not as good a place for hockey as Winnipeg. Also, they could go back to being the Jets instead of the Coyotes, which has never looked as good jersey or logo wise.

I agree. George Lucas cemented his reputation as the greatest director ever with that film. I guess the nickname would work better if Howard actually played for the Ducks, but I still thought it was kind of funny. However, it seems that most posters here aren't old enough to remember the movie, which is kind of scary, since I don't feel it was really that old.
