Montreal fans must be wondering why they don't have a goalie like Halak on their team. He's never looked that good before. I also thought the Russian coach dropped the ball on the shootout. Ovechkin isn't the only skilled player on team Russia is he? They should have let some of the other players shoot. As for Datsyuk, he's just become an unspectacular player that seems to get lost in the crowd. None of what he's best at has been showcased the last two games. He just looks tired and unmotivated to me. Come to think of it, he's looked that way before in All Star games and international competitions before. It's like he's too shy to play selfish. They need to take him away from Ovechkin, because Ovie is a puckhog, and Datsyuk is not used to playing without the puck.

The one hockey game today between two top teams is going to be aired in the middle of the night on a weekday. That's all you need to know about the s***ty hockey coverage so far.

The whole Olympic schedule has been ******* lame so far. I don't like uncompetitive games and I don't like games that start at 11:30 at night. That's all they've given us so far. Seems like all the good games will be on Sunday, instead of spreading it out a little better.

I bet when he plays hockey video games, he changes his lines for every game. In any case, these players are not used to playing together, so it's a good idea for coaches to switch things around until something works. The problem for them is that they only have one game to figure it out. After this, elimination games will begin. Not much time to obtain chemistry.

You should have read my post. Switzerland had Hiller in net. A really good NHL goalie who's unlikely to give up 9 goals in a game. Who did Norway and Latvia have in net? Also, Switzerland beat some good teams in the Olympics last time, including Canada. Yesterday's games are not a good basis for which to judge the tournament on.

Why isn't Franzen playing with the Sedin twinks? He's better than Weinhandl. That doesn't look like a very scary first line to me.

I think the league should realign in a way to have Crosby and Ovechkin meet in the Finals every year.

Don't be fooled by yesterday's game. Switzerland has Hiller in net, and he's not going to give up 8 goals or more like Norway or Latvia's goalies, who looked lost our there. He knows these shooters better and is a good goalie. That's why the U.S. had a tougher game than either Russia or Canada. With that said, I also think they'll be lucky to come away with even a Bronze Medal. USA hockey right now is behind the other top nations.

This would be like making football an Olympic sport at the Summer games. Yeah, it might makes things competitive in 100 years, but the U.S. would dominate all the other countries easily.

As I said two days ago, they shouldn't have women's hockey in the Olympics. There's only 2 good teams and it isn't fair to the competition. It's just a pretense to give Canada or the U.S. the gold. What's the point of even making it an Olympic event if there's so little competition? Pathetic event.
