How do I know? I was just stepping in to make a well timed joke. My guess would be that he has been stopped by someone, as I seem to recollect.
-
Why? We own Nabokov. That'd the one goalie I want the Wings to face constantly. I hope Kiprusoff can tear his ACL, so we can sneak into 8th place, period.
-
Based on that, Draper, Helm and Cleary have never been legitimately stopped on a breakaway.
-
Yeah, I'd also put in Bertuzzi or Franzen. However, this team just stinks at shootouts, period. When our shooters do well, the goalie sucks, and when the goalie does well, the shooters can't make a single goal. Kind of like the team right now. Just can't put it all together at the same time. Flip could be another guy to try.

2/11 - Against San Jose - Biggest Game of the Year to Date
GMRwings1983 replied to a topic in General
Every game is the biggest of the year at this point. It'd be nice if someone would tell that to the team though (6 word alliteration! ) They played desperate for 5 minutes today. That's it. -
On paper, we have one of the best top 6 forward groups in the NHL, even this last month or so with Franzen out. Those guys just can't put it together on the ice consistently. How often has our top 6 played well together this season. Maybe Holland does need to make some move to inject some life into this team or to find some chemistry somewhere. Then again, the defense will probably start sucking as our forward groups start playing well. There's just too many things wrong right now to point it specifically at one place and say, "this is the root of all our problems"

Every game is a must win game now. I just don't know how to cheer for this team anymore. Technically a fan is supposed to get excited when his team goes up by 2 or 3 goals, but we can't do that anymore because the team blows so many leads. Obviously, when we go down 2 or 3 goals, a fan isn't going to be happy either. This team is just so damn frustrating to cheer for right now.

Your buddies must not know much about Gretzky if they actually had a conversation about this. Ovechkin won't come close to either record.
-
Good point. It's one thing when the Dead Wings couldn't make the playoffs with their roster, but this is one of the best teams right now in the league on paper, and on the ice they suck.

Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN
GMRwings1983 replied to a topic in General
Great to have Franzen back, but once again the fans were misinformed as to Kronwall's injury. They said it was just a minor tweak, but this will be the 4th game he's missed already. Doesn't sound minor to me. -
Don't be a hypocrite. You do that all the time.

Easily Lilja. He's the best looking, has the coolest tattoos, is a tremendous fighter, has a hot wife, and can have pretty much any girl he wants. Also, he looks like the guy from the film 300.

The fans can figure it out ... (realignment)
GMRwings1983 replied to whitewolf406's topic in General
It's impossible to have a perfect setup. Even that example had LA playing in the same division as Dallas and St. Louis, two time zones apart. There's just too many teams close together in the East, while the West is more sparse in teams. The mountain time zone just f***s everything up. I wish we'd get rid of it somehow. I don't like the current NHL schedule though. I do wish teams would play every team twice. -
This thread reminds me of the O.J. book, "If I did It"

I don't know, as others have said the last week or so, it'd be horrible to miss by only a point or so. Then we'll be thinking about all these games that we blew, like this LA game or the Phoenix game. It's like failing an important exam. If you're going to fail, you might as well fail BIG. Not miss passing by just a point.

I always thought a player got smarter defensively as his career and understanding of the game went on. For some reason, that progression has completely escaped Rafalski. He's gotten worse defensively every year he's been here.
-
He needs to learn better balance and stickhandling skills. He looks to be all over the place when he's fumbling around with the puck out there. Falling down, getting back up, losing the puck, fighting back for it. Watch Datsyuk and Zetterberg when they have the puck. Much better balance and control. He's too wild. The only other criticism I have is his shot, which isn't very good. He needs to work on his aim this offseason. Still, he's been one of our best forwards lately. I don't expect him to become that much better than what he is now. People here have unrealistic expectations for him.

Me too. Kind of like Michael Corleone holding a grudge on his brother in law for Santino's death. I'll never forgive Stuart for Game 7.
-
Did he throw down and beat some poor fool's ass?
-
Uwe Krupp has that trademarked.
-
I can't belive my Pens blew a 3 goal lead? What a bunch of f***ups.
-
Haha. The NHL got punked out again in favor of some non-sport. No post-game interview. I can't wait till the Coyotes and Canucks play in the Conference Finals. Wonder how many of those games will be broadcasted on NBC?

He looks Hispanic and is wearing a Scarface suit.

You mean the other month?

I still think Pavel and Hank are better than Ovechkin. After all, he's not a two-way player. Pavel does everything out there.
