Well, now we know what a 3 goal lead looks like.
-
What makes you say that? I didn't think we looked that bad.
-
Even they can't say anything positive about this team anymore. This team right now looks like they have no desire to make the playoffs. The other teams in the West do. This reminds me of the Rangers teams in the early part of the last decade. Great talent, but miss the playoffs and have a bunch of underachievers on their team. Pathetic.
-
At least with more injuries, we can save face for missing the playoffs. We'll have some kind of decent excuse.
-
Where's my boy malelion at to tell us how it is?
-
Way to stand around Stuart.
-
Didn't we blow out the Pens in game 5 of the Finals?
-
As soon as Leino is traded this team starts playing well Coincidence? I think not.
-
It's good to see our players are clubbing in LA, instead of abiding by some team curfew or actually preparing mentally for the game.
-
Dude, the Thrashers just traded one of the best offensive players in the last decade for nobodies. Leino is a worthless player, and we got a guy in return who can actually do something right, unlike Leino. Quit your whining and support your GM. He's smarter than you are you know. I just hate these posters who whine about every little thing Holland does or does not do.
-
We've all seen Franzen in a real fight. That one was clearly staged.
-
Well, that's all that matters in a guy, right? I'm going to spend this entire thread lauding Kenny Holland for this move. What a terrific GM he is. I'm very positive about this deal. Great job.

Toughest Wings team since the late 90's. May, Janik, Lilja, Newbury, Tollefsen, Bertuzzi and Ericsson. Holy s***! This is the Wings we're talking about, right? Now there's no excuse not to goon it up with someone. We have the personnel for it. s***, we're one more tough guy away from challenging Philly to a brawl. What a great way to start off the day. And people always complain that I'm not positive enough. Great move Kenny. I support this decision in a positive way.
-
Playing for Philly ought to toughen Leino up. I bet when we play them next year, he'll beat up Zetterberg and Datsyuk in the same game.
-
OMG, We got rid of a soft Euro for a tough euro. I don't believe this. Tell me this is a prank?

I was wondering how long the NHL has had the rule, where a high sticking is 4 minutes if the player bleeds? I've always thought it was a strange rule, maybe one of the strangest in sports, because every high stick could potentially draw blood. Just because it did, doesn't mean it was any more severe than other high sticking situtations. Don't know how many penalties in sports are based on whether a player bleeds or not, but I can't think of any. I just wish they'd get rid of that rule.

If you ask fans around the league, I doubt the Wings would show up on the list of most gritty teams.
-
Some of those guys reminded me of myself. It's good to see what some of my Thrasher twins look like.
-
True. People here have a way of making this team appear tougher than what it really is.
-
Puck moving defenseman put up better numbers. Besides, it's stupid to trade one of the best players in the world just for a shutdown defenseman as the primary player going the other way in the trade. Defensive defenseman aren't hard to find.

Thoughts on the Four Minute High Sticking Penalties
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Maybe our guys should cut themselves with razors, like they do in pro wrestling. -
So Atlanta picked up a guy that isn't the same anymore and is hampered by an injury? That's not good. Come on mindfly, 4 points in 40 games? It's one thing to struggle because of an injury, but those numbers are worse than just struggling. That's downright pathetic, especially since New Jersey is a really good team with many offensive players. Atlanta should have waited this out and looked for a better deal. They panicked and took the first crap that came their way. No wonder their franchise has been so bad. Poor management is what this is. I don't know if the Thrashers have a fan forum, but if they do, there must be some interesting stuff going on there today, which would put LGW to shame.
-
Are you saying he's going to pull a "Doug Weight"?
-
Oduya has 4 points in 40 games this season. He makes Brett Lebda look like Paul Coffey with those numbers. Why is this bum so coveted that the Thrashers would make him a primary part of the deal they wanted the other way?
-
Bure is by far my favorite of those. Still, I'd probably take Ovechkin. He does more out there and is more of a team leader. Bure was like in his own world of cool.
