It's hard to make it to the Finals 3 years in a row (I think the Islanders were the last to do it). The team just looks spent and even if they make the playoffs, I don't see them getting past everyone to win it. My answer is no. On paper the team is still good, sure. But that doesn't mean squat on the ice. We had great teams on paper many seasons that we were bounced out of the first round.

Whoever put this Russian team together is living too much in the present. Afinogenov has been terrible the last few years, but he's been good the first half season of this NHL year, so he gets in ahead of guys like Kovalev, Frolov and Zherdev. Those guys have been good for many seasons. This team looks like a fantasy league team, in the sense of "what have you done for me lately"?

I was going to go with Russia before the tournament, but they made a mistake leaving Zubov, Kovalev and Zherdev off the team imo. I think Canada has a better team on paper and will probably wind up winning the Gold. Gold - Canada Silver- Russia Bronze - Sweden

Jokinen is an idiot. I'd much rather play in New York than in Calgary. He was only there a year, so I don't know why he sounds so dejected all of a sudden. It's not like he spent his whole career there. He's probably upset that he's a washed up player who's just been traded for two average NHL'ers. Wakeup call for him.

I thought you hated hockey fights and considered May and Downey to be useless? Now all of a sudden you want to see more fights? Some of you guys are acting like hypocrites all of a sudden. May just hasn't had any takers recently. We haven't played too many teams who dress heavies that are willing to fight him. None of our injuries were from cheap hits other than Kronwall's, in a game May was scratched in. As I said in the post above, he hadn't fought in a while because other teams don't dress enforcers against us anymore. Maybe May is doing his job based on that. I haven't seen anybody try any rough s*** against us for a while now.

If he's not overpaid, I don't know who the hell is. Like others have said, he deserves around $4 million or so per year.

The Bertuzzi/Datsyuk/Holmstrom line was playing with great chemistry. It makes no sense to take Bertuzzi away from Datsyuk, since he's been useless the last few games without Pavel on his line.

The Flames are the least of our worries right now. We've allowed teams like Minnesota and Dallas back into the race, as well as Anaheim. I don't see us fending all three of those teams off by continuing to play .500 hockey like we've been doing.

Leino is worthless, so you'd be trading Williams for Ponikarovsky straight up basically. Of course I'd do it, but Burke wouldn't.
