Seeing a Wings player on a breakaway has become anti-climactic.

Ericsson looks worse in every phase of the game then he did last year. He's not as physical, doesn't fight, turns pucks over. He seems to have digressed as a player.

Why not even close? I think Lidstrom and Howard might have made it, especially Lidstrom, who is always voted in as starter. Not to mention, he's had a good year defensively.

He're what we'll look like after the trade deadline, imo. Kovalchuk - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi Franzen - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Cleary - Fillpulla - Williams Abeldalder - Helm - Eaves Lidstrom - Rafalski Kronwall - Stuart Lilja - Ericsson That's a pretty good lineup right there, that can compete with anyone in the NHL in terms of raw talent. Oh, in case you're wondering, we'll obtain Kovalchuk for Lebda, Meech, Miller, May and Leino. I can see Atlanta taking this deal. They'll get two checkers (including an enforcer who has good leadership), two young defensemen (with great speed which is important in today's NHL), and Leino (I can't think of anything clever to say here). In any case, it's a good trade for both teams.

Oh yeah. That's the one Helm and Eaves missed that breakaway chance on. O.K. so it was only one penalty. Still not common in today's NHL.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I don't think we had one penalty in yesterday's game. I can't remember that happening too often.

Hopefully, they'll bring in Anders Eriksson.

I don't mean to piss on anyone's parade, but the more teams you have ahead of you, the harder it is to jump ahead of them, even if it is only 4 points. Those teams are all playing each other and getting points in those games. If it was two or three teams ahead of us, it'd be more manageable, but this way, we probably need to win 10 straight games to wind up in 3rd or 4th.

Hopefully, it won't be a 3 point game.

I don't think many people would agree with you, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Messier certainly fed off the team he was playing on, but he was a great player in his own right. I'd take him over Mikita if I was starting a team.

Abdelkalder is a better checking forward right now than Draper is. He and Helm would create a lot of turovers just from their forecheck. Eaves, I'd put with Miller on the 4th line once everyone returns.

No, I want to see Helm play with Abdelkalder and Cleary. Now that's a world class 3rd line.

I think Babcock should be coaching team Canada and not team Sweden. After all, he's more familiar with their players. I just hope he doesn't send any of his guys out there to slash Datsyuk or Zetterberg in the leg in the decisive game.

I've never been a Messier fan, but what exactly would make Mikita better than him? Messier was a great scorer, great leader, two-way center, physical guy that could drop the gloves, had great longevity, and was one of the most clutch players in league history. I actually think he's a little overrated, but still one of the top 10 players ever and certainly belongs on any all-time team.

He has a history of playoff choking and being invisible in big games. That's the last thing we need on this team after Hossa's playoffs last year, as well as some of the ones Datsyuk has had.

That lineup sucks ass. Abdelkalder sits while Leino plays? Also, as I said yestereday, Lebda is worse than Meech.

Ericsson looks like a harpooned whale out there. We can't afford to give Minnesota even a point. That could haunt us later on.

When our injured guys come back, none of these problems will happen. It'll just be 9 game winning streaks from then on.
