You can tell these players weren't accustomed to being in this situation, especially the goalies. I guess both teams got kicked out of the tournament for this, so that's tough luck for them.

Don't you understand that all our stars are struggling because of Leino? His laziness has rubbed off on Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski and Zetterberg. They've given up on hockey and life because of him.

Isn't Howard sore since the last game? Also, hopefully Helm will move up to the 2nd line. Eaves, Miller and Abby have gone a while now without scoring, so it's useless to put them on the 2nd line.

I know I'll be attacked for this, but this team didn't compete in games 6 and 7 of the SCF last year until late in those games, so the problem of competing for 60 minutes is nothing new with this team. How do you expect them to get up for these games, if they couldn't get up for those games in the most important part of the season. Not surprising, quite honestly. It starts with the leaders, though, because great players are supposed to bring it every night. Ours haven't this year, even when they've been healthy.

If I felt like they were improving, it'd be different, but they're not. They've been terrible two games in a row, and the PP continues to struggle. On top of that, Homer goes down and the top line isn't scoring anymore. This team needs to bring it every game if they want to make the playoffs. They can't afford to take any nights off, and yet that's what I saw last night and the night before, and it is disheartening. People are acting like Howard is going to do this every night. I don't think any goalie can. I figured they'd be fired up after Babcock called them out for the Anaheim game, yet nothing of the sort occured.

Good to see you're one of my avid readers. All my complaints were justified. This team has stood around now for two games in a row. Last night they won because Howard stood on his head, which he didn't do in Anaheim. At some point, these top players are gonna have to take over on the other side of the ice. Last night was a great 2 points, but it's hard to feel confident about the future the way this team played. Bad effort from all but a few players.

No problem with his choice of opponent. They deserve one another. I was hoping one of them would be hurt after the fight, but I guess that only happens to our players. Perry looked a little lost without his visor in that fight.

In order to make hockey as exciting as the 80's, the league would have to force goalies to play the stand-up style and to force defensemen to play every game as if it's a game of exhibition pond hockey. That's not going to happen. The game has evolved in a way to make it more boring, and there's no way to devolve it back to the 80's era of high scoring and lots of fighting.

They've had too many nights like this, though, where the first line produces nothing offensively. Datsyuk had Bert and Hank on the same line as him tonight. Yet, we get outshot by a ridiculous margin. The skilled players on the top line have had a lot to work with all season. It's the other lines that have struggled with talent. If not for Howard and the effort of some of our role players, we wouldn't have won this game tonight. I'm not going to cut the stars any slack, however. When we play well, everyone here raves about how amazing thos guys are, and how they're as good as Crosby or Ovechkin, but when we lose, people make excuses for poor Pavel Datsyuk. You people need to be a little more objective. There's too many good players not stepping up this season, and it's not all because of injuries.
