I don't think Flip coming back will help us that much. He's a set up man and not a goal scorer. Right now, there's no one to set up. We won't become a decent team until mid January, and that's providing we have no more injuries. I just don't want this team in February or March having to make up a whole bunch of points, because it's hard to start clicking all of a sudden and passing teams by. Bottom line is that we can't have these stretches where we go several games without even getting a point. In today's NHL, points are awarded for pretty much everything. That's why there's so many teams now that crack 100 points every year.

There's two kinds of Wings fans. Those who think that every goal given up by a Wings goalie is somehow soft, and those that think no goal is soft, even if scored from center ice.

In this era of goaltending, you can reasonably expect any goalie to get hot and steal games for a certain stretch. Ozzie and Howard are no less capable of it than these other jobber goalies who are coming out of nowhere and going on hot streaks.

Everytime May fights, he makes the soft euros on this team that much tougher. If not for May, we'd probably be dead last in the West right now.

With this depleted lineup, we do need our goalies to stand on their heads. Especially in these games against Chicago. We can't outscore too many teams right now so the goalies will have to be better than they have before.

This lineup will be depleted a long time. If effort is all they'll put forth, they won't make the playoffs. They're gonna have to suck it up and keep winning like everyone else in the West is doing.
