Finally you start making some damn sense. We have a North American team now, and I was disappointed that no one tried to retaliate for Cleary's injury yesterday after the buzzer sounded.

A lot of this has to do with Howard's recent play being very solid. A goalie can make the rest of the team look good defensively. Last night, we gave the Blues way too many good chances. It just so happened that they only scored once. In other words, this thread should be a Howard appreciation thread.

Horrible news. He wasn't exactly racking up points, but right now we can't afford to lose more people. The playoffs are looking more meek as time goes by. Last night I gave us a 50/50 chance of making it, and now I think it's even worse than that. F*** you hockey gods!!!

You forgot that guy who hates McCarty and the one who always raves about Lilja's manhood. Oh and there's eva's man crush on Hudler also, or UK's crush on Downey. But apparently Carman is serious about trading Datsyuk, although I don't think that would be a good idea. It would wake the team up, but may also upset the balance of the team.

I hope Bertuzzi's play doesn't ruin his chances of making it on Team Canada for the Olympics. I'm sure Yzerman will still give him a shot.

Do you want me to write a book explaining it and then mail it to you? There's a million reasons. Honestly, though, Bertuzzi is an outsider and unliked by fans because of the Moore incident. People will obviously be harder on him than on guys who have been here a long time. Not me of course, because I'll criticize anyone who isn't playing well, whether they've been here for 10 years or not.

That's true, but it has to be a team wide commitment. Not just one guy. The Blues peppered us tonight with point shots. If not for Howard, it would have been even more glaring. Really, it's been a problem all year, and I'm not surprised to see the Wings last in the league in this category.

Then why doesn't Datsyuk score empty netters to pad his stats? Besides, the Draper thing was just an example. The bigger issue is Datsyuk's sudden decline since the start of the playoffs last year.

That's pushing it too far. He's lost much of his touch and confidence, but trading him would be pointless right now. I'm just trying to figure out what happened to him to start this decline? Or are you jesting again?

We have a 50/50 chance of making the playoffs. The longer this s*** keeps up, the lower percentage I'm going to give them of making it. Franzen will be back in March. That's cutting it too close to make them a playoff lock. It'll be a dogfight all the way to the end.

You can't say that anymore about this team. There have been too many nights like this in the last month or so. At this point the blame should be on the Wings, instead of praising the other goalie or fate or luck or whatever other explanation you can think of.

Datsuk getting booed out there. I love it. I'm tired of people always making excuses for him. He's completely lost his offensive touch and confidence in his shot. People and coaches need to get on his ass more.
