Franzen when he comes back.
-
What else can you do when the ship is on fire?
-
I'm ready to pronounce myself a bandwagoner and join letsgopens.com They actually have a chance to repeat this year.
-
Well, they did come back from 2-0 down against us in Sweden. But in reality, we're not making any comeback unless our lazy coach actually bothers coaching and mixes up the top 2 lines.
-
What were Zetterberg and Stuart doing on that 2nd goal? They didn't clear the crease and wound up screening our own goalie. Idiots.
-
This whole team should be ashamed of itself right now. And don't even tell me about injuries. These guys looked scared and afraid to compete. Just like they did at the end of the Finals last year. Whatever leadership there is in the room isn't showing itself now.
-
Our 4th line is our best line.
-
Way to clear the crease guys.
-
Game over. Thank you Babcock for not changing the lines. Lazy ass.
-
If Bettman has never heard of these players, then why should we?
-
Since when does "decent young goalie" mean the same thing as "excellent"? We make these goalies look better than what they really are.
-
Is Babcock afraid to coach this team or something? We desperately need to do something different to try and find a spark somewhere. I'll be the first to say it. Babcock is lazy and he sucks.
-
Two of those guys are nobodies. If we can't solve those kinds of goalies, then of course we're going to get shutout by Kiprusoff. The chances are there, but too many shots are going wide or hitting players in front. Maltby has had better scoring touch than most of our stars this season. That's inexcusable.
-
We have a much better record with Brad May than without him. The Blues only beat us in Sweden because May wasn't playing.
-
Well put. I guess that's what I wanted to say without being able to articulate it as well.

To me, it seems like whenever people talk about this guy nowadays, they talk about the injuries and the early retirement, as well as that whole fiasco with Bobby Clarke. I think it's unfortunate that people forget that there's never been a player like him in NHL history. A guy with that size and that skill, who was a complete nightmare to play against since he could beat you in so many ways. At one time, he was the best player in the world and had one if the highest point per game ratios in league history. Also, he was a great fighter, and could hold his own even against enforcers. The guy also had a highlight reel full of devastating bodychecks as well as finesse goals. How many guys in league history can you say that about? I was wondering what you guys think about his place in league history and what you thought of him as a player? I didn't necessarily intend this to be a Hall of Fame debate, but feel free to discuss that also. Personally, I think he should get in, since he's got more credentials than someone like Cam Neely, who was elected recently.

But our top 3 players are not injured. They've got to step it up and play better than what they have been doing. I realize the line combos are different, but Pavel and Hank shouldn't have to depend on others to score their points for them. Superstar players should carry the other players, not the other way around.
-
I'm guessing most of those points came in the Columbus game, because we haven't scored s*** the last 3 or 4 games as a team.
-
I just feel like many people are blaming this entirely on injuries, as if that's going to fix itself. Fact is, it's not going to fix itself. Our injured players won't be back in December and maybe not in January either. That's a hell of a long time with the condensded schedule. Instead of having a thread for each player that stinks right now, I think it's most fair to throw them all into the same thread. After all, what's the use of blaming Leino or Homer when guys like Lidstrom and Datsyuk aren't scoring either?
-
Cleary has had no offensive whatsoever this season. He was one of guys that was supposed to step up with the offseason departures. He's had the ice time, but has no scoring touch. He needs to step up. They may be hurt, but they're not injured, otherwise they wouldn't be playing. Playing hurt is part of the deal. Anyhow, I doubt all those players I mentioned are battling some injuries which are preventing them from playing well. Some maybe, but not all.
-
Nice reply, sis.
-
Hey, I get it. Some of you guys are trying to be funny.
-
No matter how you slice it, there's going to be someone on the 2nd line that isn't very good offensively. What this team needs is for its superstars and its goalie to carry the team and steal games. That isn't currently happening. When you start relying on Abby or Helm to score, that means we're already screwed.
-
Mats Sundin or Markus Naslund. Or give steroids to our players to help them heal faster.
-
Agree. That's what I meant by that statement. There's never been a guy that was 6'5, 245 lbs. and had so much skill and physicality at the same time.
