The league definitely has a stake in this, so I don't see why not. The problem is that the NHL hasn't been very good at successful negotiations, as we found out during the lockout. Also, I don't think the league really cares that much, at least they don't act like they do.

He better be. He won't skate as well as Kronwall because of his size, but he can be more of a dominant physical force. Also, he can score more goals because of having a better shot. They need to play him more on the PP, so we can see what he can do with that shot. Also, Kronwall has a tendency to turn pucks over, and Ericsson seems smarter with the puck than him.

They did s*** in the playoffs last year by not even winning a game. They're not even close to being a Cup contender. Not enough talent and skill to compete with the top teams when it goes into the playoffs in big games. Hell, the Blues weren't a good playoff team even when they had lots of talent. They're not any kind of threat to us in the Central.

Ozzie looks just like he did in the preseason and in the regular season last year. Once again, every mistake the Wings made wound up in the net. Blues fans are hapless people who've had nothing to cheer for their whole lives, so it's only natural that they'll overact after this win. They know they're a long way away from being a good team, so they just want to rub it in as much as they can.

I'm calling your boss right now. I wish these games would start at 7:00 ET. If the Swedes love the NHL so much, they won't mind attending a game in the middle of the night on a Friday. I for one have to go to a meeting, so I'll miss the game. I can't tape it either, since it's not being televised anymore (thank you DirecTV and Comcast ).

I have a question for everyone. Couldn't DirecTV just air the games on some satellite-like channel (say channel 800 or something) while these negotiations are taking place? That way there wouldn't be a Versus because of the negotiations, but at least we'd get to see the games that were supposed to be aired.
