You should have made it in his trademark font. The league has so few viewers, that it should be afraid of losing any of them. The goal is to gain more TV ratings and publicity, and not lose it. This is a bad step for a league trying to get back to a major network. It'll be even worse when the playoffs hit.

Brad May to Play on Friday (and Friday's Line Up)
GMRwings1983 replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
May is 38, but he could still beat up anyone on our team (except a healthy Lilja of course). Interesting to see if he mixes it up Friday, knowing that he's playing for a job. -
You don't think ninety-sux can be that banging forward? I actually do think we can win in the regular season, but I'd like to see some more grit on the 3rd or 4th line in the playoffs. Bertuzzi is an X-factor, but with his history, I don't think he can be anywhere near the force he once was. Hopefully, Abelkalder will step us as a physical force or we can make a deadline acquisition. I actually want some more grit on defense, rather than forward. It's just too bad we lost a forward who can "bang", as you put it, when Hudler left in this offseason. No one could "bang" like him.

As far as how many people watch the games on Versus, yes.

About time. Most dominant athlete ever, but a lousy coach. That team never got better with him there.

Say what you want, but I don't trust a league that went into a full-season lockout, to do things in the best interest of its fans. Sitting around for a year without hockey convinced me of that. The league was losing revenue before the lockout, but the TV deal was much better and attracted more fans. The lost revenue had to do with other reasons. I don't know exactly how many fans will not watch hockey because of this DirecTV business, but I think it will be a signficant decline.
-
It's all connected in a way. If they don't care about the fans, they're going to lose money. This lockout resulted in the league losing a lot of fans and losing a TV deal with ESPN. That lost the league a lot of money and TV ratings. If the league cared about the fans enough, there wouldn't have been a lockout in the first place. Losing customers is never good financially. Other sports leagues go out of their way to attract fans. The NHL does the opposite. Same situation for me. I live with several people right now, and I'm sure they're not going to switch to DISH just because of hockey. Besides, I actually like DirecTV over DISH. Hell, for all we know, the same thing may happen to DISH, as it once did already.

Crazed fight fans obsess over these differences. Not that I'm one of them, of course, but if you ever go on the hockeyfights website, these things get analyzed at nausea.

Sammy totally punked him out last year. Great faceoff man, though.

Wow, you've got a thing for Chris Pronger, huh? I forgot all about his days in Hartford. It does sound like a good idea, so maybe I'll try to see who's the first that pops into my head. Kind of like those psychiatry tests.
-
I've always thought so as well. He isn't unappreciated, though. Personally, I have him number 6 on my list of greatest players, and most regard him as the greatest left winger in history.

Do you guys actually think Bettman will let someone move to Saskatoon? Also, I feel sorry for the Coyotes players, because their golf game would take a huge hit moving from Phoenix back to Winnipeg.
-
Yeah, I guess he finally had enough of all the "enforcer hate" that goes on around here. At first I thought he was suspended, but his account is still up.
-
It gets one result on youtube? I don't give a damn about youtube, I've seen Floppa dive a zillion times. His reputation wasn't created out of thin air, you know.
-
Whoa, where did you come from? Is this post being made from outer space? We could definitely use you back to add strength to our (goon) numbers.
-
Never liked this cheap fighter, and he's on the downslope of his career. There are younger fighters they could have tried to pursue.
-
Did I say he wasn't talented? I just said that he's a diving, cheapshot punk who doesn't know when to finally quit. Also, he think its funny to join a team in the middle of the season.
-
Unless you're related to him, how can you actually like this diving, cheapshot punk? His comeback attempts have become pathetic at this point. I just hope he doesn't try to join another NHL team mid-season, depending on how good their record is.

This is the closest you can come to winning without doing so, which is why it stings so much. In past years, it wasn't as disappointing.
-
Things are definitely different there, but it's not like you can't walk the streets without being afraid for your life. It's a different world, but every country has their own quirks. Russia is better than most places, that's for sure.

You might consider Ratelle or Leetch as the better "Ranger", although Messier was the best all-time of the bunch. Also, Ovechkin is close to already being the best Capital. Maybe Hasek as the best Sabre. The list was very good, though, and hard to debate against.
-
That's really s***ty news. I wish the worst of luck for both of these companies, if no deal gets done. I know I've said this before in this thread, but does anyone else feel like the NHL doesn't really care that much about this?

Don't you mean mule?

Once again, that was a TKO and not a KO. Downey got back up too quickly for it to be a KO.

Wings look to regroup after Game 7 stunner
GMRwings1983 replied to 19Wingsfan4ever's topic in General
We had lots of injuries, however, we were up 3-2 in the series despite all those injuries. With a better and more focused effort, we should have taken game 7 at home. There's no excuses for losing that game, and the Pens just wanted it more than the Wings, which still drives me crazy. I don't know how to feel going into this season, because in my lifetime, the Wings have never come so close to a Cup without winning it. I won't be satisfied unless Lidstrom raises another Cup.
