Kane looks like he should be doing a show on the WB network.
-
I wonder how Hilary Duff feels about this? Just ask Pronger's wife.

Heatley traded to Sharks for Michalek, Cheecho, 2nd Round Pick

I wouldn't be pissed if I was them. They'll be playing in a great hockey environment with some pretty good players as teammates. Also, they won't have to travel as often as playing for San Jose. -
I like Tim Thomas's girl. Uniform looks O.K., too.
-
Not a great list. Kronwall doesn't hit that often to be put on the list at all. He has laid people out before, but doesn't hit often compared to these other guys. Doug Murray should have been on the list and Clutterbuck should have been higher, considering how he had more hits last year than anyone else in history. Also, Kopecky couldn't hit up a bong, so eva needs to dispense with that kind of humor.

Like I said already, Dunlop led by example. He motivated his team through lies and fighting, and led by example because he himself fought and gooned it up. His players looked up to him and did whatever he told them to (except for Ned Braydon). Also, he had his own motivational speeches and the town also grew to love him and the team.
-
I'm sure that with the advancements in equipment safety over time, any safety hazards could be taken care of.
-
Of course Dunlop. Do you really think I'm going to vote Russell Crowe over Paul Newman? Dunlop led his s***ty team to a championship just from playing goon hockey. He was also a player/coach, which you don't see very often. Without him and his crafty lies about the move to Florida, that team wouldn't have won s***. He also led by example, by fighting alongside his teammates, even though he was too old to.
-
Why is it a safety hazard? I thought the league got rid of them because they weren't considered fashionable.

Ken Hitchcock wants to make the Wings "Bleed"
GMRwings1983 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Well, at least he didn't say that he wanted to eat anyone's children. -
I like your thinking. I've been petitioning for years for the league to bring back the cooperalls on certain special occasions.
-
They should have gone with the cooperalls. It's going to be cold, you know.

So which defenseman is going to be traded? (poll)
GMRwings1983 replied to miller76's topic in General
Rafalski is getting old, but nowadays, defensemen can contribute to a team well into their late 30's and even their early 40's. He was one of the leading scorers last year in the NHL amongst defenseman, so trading him would be a terrible idea if you ask me. Also, there's no telling whether Lidstrom will be healthy this year, because he's had some scares the last few seasons with his health. -
Yeah, until he got picked. He's already been voted 2nd in this thread.

No one was traded last year, so why would this year be any different, especially now that Chelios is gone? With the injuries this team has had the last few seasons on defense, minus a Chris Chelios now on the depth chart, this team has less depth than it did last year when it made no moves. -
Zetterberg. Had a bit of an off year last year, but a great playoff yet again. I would have personally ranked him ahead of Datsyuk, but for some reason, people here disagreed with that decision.

So this means we need to add more toughness, because Hitchcock plans on resorting to thugery against us, in order to make our players physically bleed. Kenny needs to make some moves now. -
More fights in the preseason. Even for the Wings.
-
Why would LA give up 2 good young players, one being a potential superstar, for a playoff choker? Terrible trade for them if this happens.

Is this the same Columbus team that never led in the entire 4 game series against us? Besides, Chicago is by far the biggest threat in the division, and not Columbus. -
Hey, wouldn't it be great if Bettman, using his incredible leadership and business savvy skills, got DirecTV and Versus together into the same room, and mediated a compromise between these 2 companies, thus saving many of us viewers from potentially having to miss hockey this season?
-
At this point, I'd be surprised if any deal gets done before the season starts. It looks like the only hockey I'll watch this year is either on the NHL network, or through crappy online streams.
-
I wasn't born yet either, but that film is one I still watch over and over again. I think most posters here have either heard of or seen the film. At least I hope so.

Douglas Murray is a great hitter, but his pugilistic skills don't rank up there with Nystrom and Lilja. Sammy was afraid to fight anybody. He talked a mean game during scrums, but that was about it.

When you think of hardest slapshots ever, you think of Al MacInnis, Bobby Hull, Zdeno Chara, Al Iafrate, etc. Also, when people talk about the best wristshot they've ever seen, they usually name Joe Sakic. So I was wondering, who are some of the guys with the best backhands in hockey history, or even in present day? The best I've seen are guys like Kariya, Damphousse, Modano. Also, I always heard Dave Keon had a great backhand.
