It was cheap and wasn't something most guys would have done to someone like Lidstrom. Maybe Kocur or McCarty should have grabbed Bondra later in the game and beat him up. Tinordi broke the fighters code. He is a ***** for that incident, even though he did fight tougher guys throughout his career.
-
What's there to love about it. Like it wasn't bad enough that they tried to rip of the Timberwolves logo a little bit, now they just decided to not even have one. It is uncreative and not every team has one like you said. I guess on the bright side it wasn't red and white.
-
I just hope he doesn't come back in the form of Igor Grigorenko.
-
Worked out well for Ray Whitney, though. Most players that have left were just role players in Detroit, so I don't know why other teams expected them to be great all of a sudden.
-
Tinordi was a big *****. If he had any balls, he would have fought someone other than Lidstrom. The Wings had plenty of fighters on their team back then for him to fight at some point in the game.
-
WTF? There is no logo. It looks like the Ducks jersey because of that. I hate that kind of uncreative s***.
-
Wow, I might just fly down to Texas sometime soon.
-
If every forward reached their full potential last year, Tampa may have won the East. Their forward lineup looked awesome last year before the season started.
-
It sounds like in most people's minds, classy player equals non-fighter or complete ***** who doesn't even throw bodychecks. I mean it is possible for tough players to also be classy.

In '86 and '93 Roy won Cups on teams much weaker than what Ozzie has had to play for. I don't think anyone is nearly as good a playoff goalie as Roy. Just look at those 3 Conn Smythe's he won. Brodeur is slightly overrated, but I'd still rank him ahead of Ozzie too.
-
Ozzie has 3 rings, not 4. Only 2 of those came as a starter. He's been a great goalie, but he's not the best goalie of his generation, because that would easily be Brodeur. By his generation, I'm talking about goalies that came into the league in the early 90's. As far as "our era" goes, you also have to put Roy, Hasek and Belfour ahead of him.

Way too many overpaid defensemen on that list.
-
Vancouver is already solid on defense, unless they have more injuries like they did last year. These moves don't really make them that much better. They're not very deep at forward right now and Luongo sucked in the playoffs against Chicago. They're not a team I'm worried about. To me they're like the Sharks. Call me when they become a perennial playoff force.
-
Two average defensemen, one of whom should have retired years ago. No big deal if you ask me.
-
Sean Avery Patrick Kane Chris Pronger Ryan Hollweg Jarko Ruutu These are the guys that come to mind instantly.
-
Thank you for finally explaining it to some of the not so bright posters on this site. However, I still think we should trade him for a tougher, stay at home defenseman who actually fights.

If I'm not mistaken, 2010 is the start of a new decade, hence I wanted to rank all the best Cup winning teams of this decade, from 2000-2009. I don't think anyone can debate the top 2 teams on my list, but I'm curious to see what other people's lists will look like. 1. 2002 Red Wings 2. 2001 Avalanche 3. 2008 Red Wings 4. 2000 Devils 5. 2003 Devils 6. 2009 Penguins 7. 2007 Ducks 8. 2004 Lightning 9. 2006 Hurricanes
-
Shouldn't the Oilers be used to it by now? I mean Pronger's wife singlehandedly convinced him to leave the Oilers to play for a Mickey Mouse organization instead.

No offense to Ted Lindsay, but he isn't in Bobby Hull's league when it comes to greatest all-time left winger. If he didn't switch to another league, Hull would likely be the all time leading goal scorer in history. He's one of the most important and infamous players in league history and a top 10 all-time guy. Also, even though Robitaille was a great left winger, he hasn't been on very many Team Canada squads if I'm not mistaken. He's definitely a great player, but far from as good as his stats suggest. Imagine if Shanny in his prime played with Gretzky and Kurri. How many goals you think he'd score?
-
As long as he doesn't drop his gloves during a fight, he'll always be a favorite to win this trophy.

1. 2009 Red Wings One of several defending champs on this list, but this team got to the Finals with so many injuries and had a tough road to get there. Also, with the addition of Hossa they were more talented than the team that won it the year before. 2. 2001 Devils Maybe the best out of all the Devils teams even though they lost 3. 2000 Stars Lucked out to beat Buffalo the year before, and lucked out from not having to face Detroit in their runs. 4. 2007 Senators Dominated the East all season and coasted through the playoffs. 5. 2008 Penguins Won the Cup in 2009 so they were no fluke. Also, they were dominant in the playoffs in the East. 6. 2004 Flames How the hell did this team make it to the Finals? 7. 2006 Oilers See above post 8. 2003 Ducks See above post 9. 2002 Canes See above post One thing I've noticed, is that there were many surprise teams to make the Finals in this decade, but that all of them lost.
-
Is this the same Flames team that got past an injured Wings team and then lost to one of the decade's worst Cup teams in the Finals? Even if you think Calgary got screwed, they were nowhere near the best Finals loser. They were a 6 seed if I'm not mistaken. I'll do my list later, but Calgary will be near the bottom.

People get fed up eventually. I had DISH, and right after the lockout the NHL wasn't on DISH, so I had to get DirecTV. Now this crap may potentially happen. I don't want to change providers again because of the NHL. Most people have espn, so I don't think nearly as much illegal streaming would occur as it does now, if the NHL was on a major network. How come the other leagues don't crack down the way the NHL did on illegal streaming?
-
I understand the business side of it, but of course people are going to stream games if they don't have Versus, which many people have never even heard of as a a channel. So in a way, the league is to blame for online streaming and its increase. People can't watch the games on TV, so they steal it off the internet.

What? If he was in our lineup last year, we would have won the Stanley Cup. He would have punched Talbot in the face early in game 7, and we would have won 1-0 on Ericsson's only goal.
