Many great fighters in boxing have said that they won't fight anymore but still did. Lilja is just being modest. He'll be back with a vengeance.

Which Team Has a Better Chance of Making it Back to the Finals?
GMRwings1983 posted a topic in General
It's been almost 25 years since a team went to the Finals three years in a row, and obviously this year both the Wings and Pens have a chance of accomplishing that difficult feat. So I was wondering which team you guys think has a better chance of doing it? I think the Pens have a tougher road in a tougher conference, with Boston, Philly, Carolina, Washington and New Jersey all being possible contenders. In the West, I think Chicago is by far the biggest challenge to the Wings. I think the Pens have a more complete team, but I think the Wings are more likely to make it again with less competition. Also, I couldn't help get pissed again about last year's Finals while typing this thread, because it'd be one hell of a thing if we were going after a 3-peat next season. Ah, what could have been. -
You would think one of the s***ty teams would have signed him by now. It's not like every team is deep on defense and I still think he could be of some use to someone. If Anders Ericsson and Hal Gill are playing in the NHL, then why can't Chelios?

I just realized that I omitted San Jose in my OP. I think the best thing for them is to finish like 4th or 5th in the West, so that they'll be under the radar with low expectations, kind of like the Wings in '97. Then they'll have less pressure and may surprise everybody. -

I've always said that a balance of grit and skill is the most ideal. Calgary has had no balance in the past, which was evident in their defensive core more than anywhere else. Also, for many years every line for them was a checking line, other than the 1st line, which was the only line that could score. -

Calgary has been eliminated in the first round 4 years in a row. They're all grit and no skill. Having a bunch of slow defensemen who can't skate doesn't help them either. Also, Kiprusoff has had some inconsistency in prior playoff appearances. They're not going anywhere again this year with their overrated roster. -

I don't think that ever matters with the Wings, because they always have a target on their backs being the most popular and hated team in the league now for well over a decade. The Wings will still have huge targets on their backs. Also, I think the Pens are a team that's always going to have targets on their backs with Crosby and Malkin on their team, whether they are the champions at that time or not. It'll probably be a little different for them next year, but they were already the NHL's media darlings to begin with, so I don't know how much extra pressure they'll face. -
Why would Williams play the point when Ericsson and probably Stuart could both do it better than him? And no I don't give a s*** that he's right handed. He doesn't exactly have a rocket from the point. Also, he was more prone to turnovers than Sammy was when he was here. Sammy did some goofy s***, but at least he kept the turnovers to a minimum. Take that bum off the point, people.

Way ahead of you there, bud. I posted that earlier in the thread. If an enforcer was with Hudler, he would have deterred those prostitutes from ever getting near him.
-
Wow, esteef, you never told us that you were so handsome and a Leafs fan to boot.

I know that Czech women are considered some of the most beautiful in the world, but I seriously doubt that their hookers look better than his girlfriend. In any case it doesn't really matter, since that isn't the point. Point is that he cheated on a hot babe who actually liked him for some hookers that just wanted his money.

If Hudler assaulted that cabby, it would be a sign of "team toughness" for us and hence a moral victory. When Kane did it, it was just downright wrong. Also, if she's 10 years older, that means that Hudler is truly in his teens, since she looks like she's in her 20's. Then again, it's probably just the makeup.

Jeff Finger, baby!!

Their biggest problem over the years has been developing young talent, so we'll see how that goes in the long run. The signing of gritty players and fighters was not much of a suprise since Burke took over.

A dwarf like Hudler didn't deserve her in the first place. I hate how it's always these rich, spoiled idiot athletes who have all the luck with these models, and then they proceed to screw it up anyway. Personally, I'd take her over Hank's girl. Maybe I can catch her on the rebound and prove to people here that I don't hate all things that are soft and european.

Here's the only game that really matters in the long run to women. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I totally glossed over that part. I guess Czech papers are written a little diferently than American papers are. I've read over it several times and still can't figure out what certain parts mean.

WTF? That translation made less sense than the article. And who the hell is George?
-
Didn't those girls just once think that he was underaged?
-
If we had an enforcer on the team, this wouldn't have likely happened.
-
Isn't that Zetterberg's girl?
-
I'm a little confused here. Isn't being with one hot model better than being with 2 hookers? Hookers aren't exactly the most physically attractive women out there. That might be something I would think about doing, but not if I'm dating a freaking supermodel. This guy just sucks at choosing things, you know, kind of like choosing the KHL over playing for the Wings.

interesting article...williams signed to be a 3rd line center?
GMRwings1983 replied to a topic in General
I didn't say they were less balanced than last year, I said they were less balanced than in 2008 or for that matter, any other season when they won the Cup. Although they came close last year, fact is they didn't win the Cup. YOu can pin that on injuries, but then again that's the same thing people whined about in 2007. I think that with a little more snarl and energy at the start of games, this team would have won at the end of that forgettable series last year. The skilled players were either hurt or lazy, and were definitely inconsistent. The lower lines are for players that will energize their team from the beginning of the game with hits and forechecking. Good luck expecting that from anyone other than Helm out of the bottom 6 forwards. -
I think Hudler has clearly been lacking a father figure since Robert Lang left. First he complains about icetime and being unappreciated by the team and now this. There clearly needs to be some intervention here from outside sources. One has to wonder if this team's lack of leadership may not be also responsible for this. It's not entirely unfair to pin the blame here on Lidstrom.
