Hey, I'm still puking in my mouth thinking about that game 7. The offseason has been one bad thing after another. People just want something to be excited about with this team.
-
When did Kenny say he wanted a gritty presence? Also, if I'm not mistaken, that's how Downey made this team in 2008, was by trying out and winning a spot on the team.
-
On this site, any 3rd line Canadian who happens to fight is automatically presumed to be an enforcer, and is also presumed to be a player with limited skills who takes lots of stupid penalties and doesn't get much ice time.
-
Nobody is saying pack it in, people are just pissed that Prospal went for lower than a useless hack like Williams. What do you expect people to say? Yaaayy, Prospal only went for 1.1 million, good thing we landed Williams instead?
-
Well, Holland did once trade for an enforcer (Cory Cross), so you never know.
-
All you nonbelievers make me angrier than Moses was when he destroyed the Ten Commandments. Have you forgotten what Lilja did to Souray, Boll, Phaneuf, Begin, Neil and Sharp? You should all be ashamed of yourselves for your lack of faith.

Holland's offseason continues to look worse and worse. At this point it can't get any lower, unless he trades Lidstrom overseas for Aki Berg.

He won this one Youtube

Devellano says Wings close to signing Bertuzzi
GMRwings1983 replied to WingMachine91's topic in General
First Williams, then Bertuzzi. Could it be than Langer is next? Worst offseason in recent Wings history. -
If he hasn't hung himself yet, I wouldn't be surprised if Holland brings in Legace again.
-
That's a few more than there are on the Pens boards, though.
-
Cam Barker is also in the top 15, as is the defensive juggernaut Brian Campbell. Also, Ben Eager is the greatest enforcer in the NHL right now.
-
His name is Vigilante? Sounds like the enforcer that we need. What greater name could a hockey player have?
-
Just based on that picture alone, I'm convinced we should sign him. Talk about having the anti-Jason Williams look.
-
They needed an enforcer?
-
How about signing this guy? http://media.photobucket.com/image/scott%2.../images.jpg?o=1

Damn, the one euro I'd love to have and we didn't get him. He's more of a wrestler than a fighter, but that's done wonders for others in the past.
-
And apparently he's taking his lackey (lover), Kopecky with him. The two are just inseparable like Brangelina.
-
After 21 pages, I still think we need a goon. Sign McGrattan, Kenny.
-
What the hell is Kopecky's name doing on that list? This is the Olympics we're talking about, right?

Stats aren't everything. The Ducks struggled last year, as did Pronger's numbers in a way. Meanwhile, a team like the Bruins looked good, so a guy like Wideman had good numbers and a good plus/minus. I don't think any player in the league (Wideman included) would suggest that he's better than Pronger. Also, a guy like Markov is softer than a pillow and constantly gives the puck away in his zone. He's a good offensive player, but not better all-around than Pronger. I don't know why you put Zubov on your list at all. He missed most of last season, and has left to join the KHL. How can he be one of the best defensemen in the NHL? Weber is a guy who has had one really good season. You can't read too much into that and put him ahead of a guy that's solid every year for the last 10 plus seasons. Boyle and Greeen are basically forwards playing defense. Just because they scored more points than Pronger doesn't make them better players, and once again, they benefitted statistically from playing on higher scoring teams. Bottom line is that there's no way Pronger should be 13th, and should probably be in the top 5. His playoff performances are constantly solid, and that's more than you can say about any other defenseman, except Lidstrom.
-
Where did I insult you in that post? Because I suggested that you hate Pronger? Some insult you found to complain about. And I did post something "civil" in my post, namely the idea that Pronger is a better 2 way defenseman than Markov, Zubov, Weber or Wideman. A couple of those guys have had several decent seasons, but that doesn't put them ahead of Pronger. Also, Zubov is no longer in the NHL. Ask most players around the league where Pronger ranks, and he'll be higher than 13th on everyone's list. Now I hope that you've gotten over my terrible "insult" towards you, and will respond to my "civil" post.
-
Pronger is the 13th best defenseman in the NHL? Behind Wideman, Markov, Weber and Zubov (who isn't even playing in the league anymore ) We get it eva, you hate Pronger because he always pushed around your boy Hudler. I never figured you'd let that influence your ranking system.

That 2001 offseason was pretty sweet, wasn't it?

Can Holland please trade Williams for Grier?
