Lilja will beat this puss into submission in training camp. He is a better fighter than Kopecky, though. Still not the Boogaard that I was hoping for.
-
Just heard this today about Hudler. Figures someone like him would go to the KHL with the rest of the softies. I still hate the KHL, though. However, Hudler was way too overrated on this site. We do have some scoring depth issues now, but if the Holland is the god everyone makes him, he'll figure something out. No worries about this. Small fish (literally) leaving the pond.
-
Pronger is not a goon, since he can't fight and is a great player. Likewise, Simon always had talent. A true goon is someone who has no talent other than fighting. I'm one of the few posters here who wouldn't mind seeing a true goon on the team, because I'm realistic enough to understand that an enforcer isn't going to score lots of points. He would have if half the guys he fought didn't grab on for dear life.
-
Isn't Parros American? I want a one-dimensional goon on the team, just so posters here can go crazy and irate over such a player being on their beloved, classy (soft) Wings. As far as Bertuzzi goes, he may be too much of a goon even for my tastes. I mean come on, the guy f**ing crippled a player for crying out loud. You can't get any more goonish than that.
-
We don't need Bertuzzi. Instead, we need someone who's willing to pay pack for hits to his teammates, and isn't afraid of hurting someone in the process.
-
Too bad. That's the one dimension that we need right now.
-
Holland will sign McGrattan, Brookbank and Koci, sending half of LGW into cardiac arrest.
-
Kyle Calder, Baby!!!
-
Rumor has it that he's dying to play on the same line as Jiri Hudler.
-
How can a guy score 57 points without ever stepping on the ice? From all these stats people post about him, Hudler may be the best player EVER!!!
-
I'm actually going to miss him just for humor reasons. I'm gonna miss seeing him skate into the zone, and then put the puck on his backhand, and then do something stupid and meaningless after that, which results in a pointless offensive possession. No one else on the Wings could make me laugh the way Sammy could. A goofy looking dude with some rather odd strategies on the ice.
-
Yeah, and he sucked after the first 2 rounds. Hudler isn't consistent enough to be praised as to anything.
-
Kenny should save our cap space until the trade deadline
GMRwings1983 replied to hckypete96's topic in General
Kenny needs to sign an enforcer. Preferably someone who has a limited skill set, can't skate well, and takes many stupid penalties. As long as he can enforce and hit, I'm fine with it. -
Maybe if he didn't suck the 2nd half of the playoffs, more of us would want him to stay. I could care less about these projected stats.
-
I miss Gino. He was a goofy looking dude that had the potential to go crazy on any shift. I remember him taking on what seemed like the entire Blues team during one game.
-
Is it just me, or are half the guys on that list former Wings players?
-
Why so much hate for Bertuzzi? Geez, from the way people talk about him, one would think that the guy ended someone's career or something.
-
He and Sammy playing on the same line would possibly be the funniest thing to watch in recent Wings history. Where do these threads come from? Williams was the guy we traded for freaking Kyle Calder. You remember, the useless moron who sucked on the PP and kept turning the puck over.
-
Good point. People criticize some of us for not praising Hossa, but then talk about how useless Chelios was for us, which is not true at all.
-
It had nothing to do with you, I would have made the same response to anybody. If not for stiffs like Kopecky, Helm wouldn't be in the minors these last few years.
-
Well, at least he's North American and is capable of hurting someone on the ice.
-
That's because we're sex starved for enforcers. People always want what they can't have. We can't have enforcers and haven't for a long time, so we want one. Most fans want more skill on their teams, because their teams suck.
-
I beg your pardon. What bias are you talking about? Everyone here knows I'm always open about us signing more players of Hudler's size and style. I've never been so insulted before in my life. Good one. Just admit that his comparison sucked instead of changing the topic. I didnt' care less whether Larionov fought or played gritty. We had enough balance on our team to offset skill with grit. And once again, Hudler isn't in his league.
-
Larionov was a Hall of Famer and a great centerman on our team. Hudler is s*** compared to Larionov, even when Igor was in his early 40's.
-
Joel Quenneville coaches their team. That should calm your fears.
