Injuries or not, we should have still won the series after having a stranglehold on it. For some reason, our injuries didn't show in the 3rd periods, when this team actually tried to play hard. I don't like making excuses for what happened last week, and I don't know why everyone else is.
-
The Wings did blow this series and there are too many fans making excuses, but the 2nd half of your post was complete B.S. Not one bit of it was true or made any sense.

I wonder how many Darren Helm type players we could acquire for 4 million? Or how many enforcers? Yeah, I know Hossa will likely make more and ask for more, but I don't think we desperately need him or another scoring forward. We need more grit and more balance in our lineup.
-
What new rules? Did you watch Hal Gill at all in these Finals?
-
If Megan Fox is as bad in the clutch as Hossa is, then I'll take my chances elsewhere. Besides, I prefer blondes and with less than 20 tattoos.

Anyone else notice Joel quennevilles horrid coaching?
GMRwings1983 replied to tommingthepuck96's topic in General
I think coaching tends to be overrated sometimes. Do you guys really think Dan Bylsma is a better coach than Quenneville? After all, he has a Cup as a coach and Quenneville doesn't. -
I think the Red Wings, Blackhawks and Blues have the best logos in all of sports. The Ducks have the worst logo in the league, because they don't have one. An F for lack of effort. Jersey colors suck now in the NHL, because too many teams wear red and white. It's something like a dozen teams or more that wear that variation. Finally, why oh why, can't the Hurricanes be forced to bring back the Whalers logo and colors?

Stanley Cup final most-watched NHL game in 36 years
GMRwings1983 replied to heed316's topic in General
Now I'm even more embarrassed. I was hoping no one got to see that besides us. -
I don't care about the regular season. As far as him motivation, if he wasn't motivated playing against his former team and losing in the Finals the year before, plus all the hoopla surrounding this situation, he's never be motivated.

We had several guys injured, so I wouldn't dump them. (Rafalski, Datsyuk, Lidstrom) The bottom 6 forwards can all leave as far as I'm concerned. Obviously they all won't, but they didn't do much in the playoffs. I still don't see why we need him to win. We can win the President's trophy and the Cup without him.
-
I wouldn't include the cheese with that deal. I can't think of a reason for why we really need him? We won the Cup last year without this bum. We need more hunger and more youth. As he showed in these playoffs, he has neither.
-
Anymore?

Because having enforcers in the regular season toughens up soft euros in time for the playoff run. You know, kind of like drill sergeants preparing young people for battle. Or something like that.
-
I like Carcillo, but the other 2 guys are even bigger ******* than Matt Cooke. I don't want us having guys like that on our team. Visor wearing, spot-picking cowards. No thanks.
-
Because the Pens are stupid. They're like the only team in the league that would dress a guy like that. Every other team is smart enough to know that a guy like Kopecky is about as much toughness as you need on a 4th line.
-
You wanting Downey in the lineup is the best argument I can think of for why he should be playing.
-
Sure, but I hope you don't expect me to start saying good things about our euro players now.
-
That's not the point. They had more grit than us throughout their roster all and that resulted in more 60 minute efforts, because that was something they were used to. The Wings had a powder puff team all year, and in the playoffs we had a hard time playing determined over an entire game. More toughness means more guys willing to play hard right from the word GO.
-
All right, I can see how my post would be interpreted that way by you. I'm sorry because I should have read your post more carefully. I was just making a joke I often make when someone says "screw you", but I should have used better judgment under the circumstances. I have problems too in life, and my first post here never said that the Wings losing was the worst of them. I'm just saying that I still haven't gotten over the loss and was taking a jab at people who have criticized me and others of not being true fans throughout the entire season.
-
Including your favorite player Downey?
-
6 million is too much. We'd have more cap problems and our young guys would be in GR all year again to hamper their development. Time to get rid of some cap space. If I remember correctly, we've won the Cup without Hossa but have never won with him. He's not really an absolute necessity that we can't live without.
-
I never made fun of anything having to do with your problems, and my heart does actually go out to you. When I said I was tired of your s*** I was talking about your constant negative responses to every post I make. It's like you're trying to start crap with me to get me kicked off. Now you're taking my posts and twisting them around against me and throwing personal attacks to boost. Who's the ******* here? Not me.
-
You wouldn't know how. Now disappear by joining my ignore list. And please put me on yours.
-
Joe Thornton is top 10 too. I don't want Houdini on our team for the playoffs again. As far as my other posts go, you must not post often, because everyone here knows who I like and don't like. I even told you as much in my last post in this thread.
-
You never stop with your s*** do you? I'm asking you for a favor. Put me on your ignore list so I don't have to read anymore of your responses to my posts.
