Do you want me to write a book about every player who played like s***? I probably could but don't have the time. I wouldn't mind seeing anybody on our 3rd and 4th line not come back (other than Helm). If Hossa busted his ass off, then he really sucks, because he didn't seem to be playing with any injury yet still underperformed. A guy with that talent playing hard would score a lot more. Stop making excuses for him.

    Wings fans listen up

Because we blew a 2-0 lead and game 7 at home. Because this team didn't play with tons of passion in the series, especially the last 2 games. Because Crosby skated the Cup in OUR building. Because we know how hard it is for a team to make it this far, especially with 15 wins. This is the closest you can come to winning, hence the most disappointing when you don't win. Maybe you ultra-optimists aren't better fans than the pessimists, since you don't seem to be taking the loss as hard. If you guys have already gotten over the loss, I question how big a fans some of you are. This isn't necessarily directed at you, as much as it is directed at anyone who is criticizing others for taking the loss too harshly and blaming players left and right. We're disappointed and pissed.

Yeah, I'm only blaming one guy. I've blamed about half the team for this loss already so get off my back.

Too early for this. I've tried doing what you suggested, but each time I think about this series, I'm disgusted by the thought of how good it'd feel if we skated the Cup in our building in game 7 and got to repeat as champs which is hard to do. I'm also disgusted by the fact that we had such a great opportunity being so close to the Cup in an ideal situation at home and blew it. There's no telling when they'll get back here again. It's been more than 25 years since anyone made 3 straight Finals appearances if I'm not mistaken. This loss would be easier to get over if it never happened. I can't help think about it, and always get the same response from my gut each time.

I just wanted to mention again that I don't think Hossa played very well and should not be brought back under any circumstances. See you guys in 2 pages.

Datsyuk was definitely a bust in the playoffs this year. He had a good game 5 in the Finals, but didn't do s*** after that. It seems like the drive he had the last 2 playoffs wasn't there this time, even before the injury.

Holland will make him an offer he cannot refuse, with Lilja's help.

    Am I the only one.....

It's very simple guys. I hate the Pens more because we just lost to them, their fans are more obnoxious, and they're the league's media darlings. The Ducks are not media darlings, they don't have any fans, and we didn't lose to them this year.

why not grab some playoff style defensemen?

DERIAN HATCHER BABY!!!!! Why hasn't Holland ever thought about signing this guy before? He's won a Cup, is North American, is big and likes to hit. If we had a guy like that on our team, we could never lose in the playoffs.

08-09 is done, and here we are, still...

I wouldn't mind having a guy like Colton Orr on this team. He's not a great fighter, but he hasn't been injured as much as some of the other enforcers, and he does stick up for his teammates. Neil would also be ideal and is way more talented than Orr, although harder to acquire. I don't like Lapperierre personally, so I'm not sure how to feel if he signed here. Boogaard would be perfect, but he's always injured and really no one ever wants to fight him, which may or may not be a good thing. Bottom line is that some more grit and effort is definitely needed on the 3rd and 4th lines. Other than Helm, our bottom 6 forwards played hard whenever they felt like it.

Did I run you off the road recently or something? Your bipolar behavior gets kind of weird sometimes around here.

Getting beat by Max freaking Talbot?

Good point. If we played the Ducks in the first round, which we almost did, we may have never even made it close to the Finals. Also, the Sharks would have had home ice against us, and that would have been a tougher series for us than playing the Hawks. I still think the Ducks were a tougher matchup for us than the Pens.

is it possible that was truly all the wings had left?

If this team was gassed, how come they always played hard in the 3rd periods? I don't buy this s***. They just didn't play urgent enough and then woke up at the end of games with plenty of energy. Energy wasn't the problem, it was effort at the beginning and for a full 60 minutes. I'm not making any excuses for a team that jost lost game 7 of the SCF at home. Excuses are for teams that are used to losing.

Sharp did it. He knew Lilja and Kopecky (2 players who kicked his ass previously) weren't playing, so he tried to act real tough. I hope next year PAIN TRAIN goes after Sharp again and feeds that ***** his lunch.

But how do you really feel about me newbie? BTW, your description of me is a perfect description for your boy Hossa.

    The injury thread

Let me guess. You're another odd Hossa supporter? I just asked a simple question about his health status, which people over the last month have brought up as an excuse to his horrid play. I was wondering whether there was any merit to it? For instance, if Hossa was playing with a detached spinal cord, then I'd say that his poor play was justified.

So what about this horrific injury that Hossa was supposedly playing through?

What he should have regrets about was his s***ty production level. That's what they should have asked him in any interview.

    position-by position off-season preview:

More Canadian sandpaper on our 3rd and 4th line, and less euro pudding. Also, no Hossa. He'll ruin our salary cap and our playoff run.

SCF GAME 7 GDT: Penguins 2 at Red Wings 1

He didn't produce in the Finals. Hossa, Homer, Hudler and Sammy were all more productive offensively against the Pens, and scored more clutch goals than Abby did.
  22. GMRwings1983

NHL as a product now that season is over.

I wish. Then we could see more enforcers.
  23. I hope Hossa plays for them this time around.

When did I ever say anythying bad about the way Hossa's played?

I can't believe how much hate is going on in this thread over something we should all feel unanimous about. Hossa should be GONE!!!!!! We don't need him. We can win the Cup without him just fine as we've proven in the past. All he'll do is just screw up our cap space some more. I don't want Helm and Ericsson to be in the minors all year again because some hack like Hossa is being overpaid to suck in the playoffs.
