I'm not proud of the way the Wings played in this series, and have lost some respect for the leadership and killer instinct that we were reliable for in the past. We blew a 2-0 lead, blew game 7 at home, didn't come out fired up for two games where we had a chance to skate the Cup, didn't feel like playing a full 60 minutes in any game, lost the killer instinct that we used to have in these situations, and looked content with just winning the Cup last year. I'm proud of what we've accomplished in the past, but it's hard to be proud of this last week of hockey. Wings fans at the Joe last night deserved a better effort than that.

He did, however, deflect so much attention on himself, that it freed up other lines and players. He had a great playoff, but Hank is a better 2 way player than him at this point in his career. Once again, though, I don't care since they won the Cup. There really were no positives in this series.

With 6 seconds left, I didn't think we'd have any real chance of scoring. However, we had a golden chance at the end, and when I saw Lidstrom skating impeded to the net, I thought he had a sure goal with half the net open. Did anyone else think that at the time?

Hossa is a fairweather player. We don't owe him anyting. He was only here for a year, and it ended in disappointment. That's how we'll always remember it.
-
It hasn't hit me either until in the last hour or so. I know that we could be skating the Cup right now, and we'd have our 5th championship. It's damn hard to get this far to begin with, but to get here and lose in such a fashion makes me wonder when this team will be back again. They lost a lot of respect from me for the lazy attitude they showed with the Cup on the line in 2 games in this series.

I'm glad someone said it in the first reply, or else I would have said it. They almost moved to Kansas City a few years ago. They deserve s*** on a plate, not the Stanley Cup.
-
No, but he was the reason for both of the goals against us, which means we would have won 1-0.
-
Hossa's play was befitting of a 3rd line center, not a superstar player. I can't believe this was even the same guy from the regular season. I guess he and Joe Thornton should think about playing together someday.
-
It's more disappointing when get closer and lose. In 95 they never had a chance. Here, they blew a chance and handed the Cup to the other team.
-
He should go back to Rocky Mountain House Alberta, and learn how to make passes without throwing them to the other team. And he always picks the worst time to pinch in. Him and Kronwall both suck at knowing when to pinch and when not to. That's why they face so many 2 on 1's.

Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?

I thought it was a save by Fleury. I might be wrong, but I don't think it was blocked or missed the net. Fleury just made a great save, but Lidstrom should have aimed better than the chest. -
Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?

It was a patented Sammy shot too. Right into the crest even though there was plenty of open space to shoot at. Honestly I contemplated turning off the TV before the last faceoff because I never thought we'd even come close to winning the faceoff and getting a chance. -
Bob Errey is a smug idiot, but this post sounds like it was made after a fe drinks.
-
Don't forget the penalty he took that gave the Pens momentum for the rest of the period.
-
How many goals did Hudler score in the last 2 rounds? His points mostly came earlier in the playoffs. He was invisible in the 2nd half.
-
3 games where he scored a goal in the playoffs and 20 where he didn't. That's the most tell-tale sign of all. He has talent, but played with no heart and desire or else that talent would have amounted to more. The only thing that makes me stupid is the fact that I've responded so much to some nobody's posts. I feel ashamed of myself for even answering you.
-
I havent' done anything but provide reasons for why he sucks, and so has everyone else. He hasn't done anything but suck for us in the playoffs. How many more reasons do you need? You haven't provided any reasons for why he doesn't suck except that he was good in other cities. As if I should care. Oh and watch your language kid, or I'll report you and get you suspended from this forum. You'll have to start your own site where all you can talk about is how great Hossa is.
-
I hate to ask you this, but are you by any chance married to Marian Hossa? Everything you've said about him is idiotic, yet you keep talking s*** about my posts. Hossa is lazy and he sucks.
-
Tonight's game and blowing the Cup at home. Every memory I have of any Wings season depends on how that season ended, not some incident that may have occured during it.
-
He scored in 3 out of 23 games. Stop kissing his ass and admit that he's sucked and underachieved, or else you sound like some Hossa homer. Every statement you've made defending his play is stupid. There is no defending him, unless he was playing with a concussion the entire playoffs.
-
I guess we found out this year why Hossa has had a label before of being a playoff choker. I just hope that Datsyuk hasn't reacquired his previous label of the same kind.
-
I don't want to talk too much about winning the Cup next year right now. A few hours ago, we had 15 wins and were one win away from the damn Cup. It's not easy to get back to that point, and even if we do get back, I've lost some faith in this team's ability to finish the deal.
-
Boy, that game 5 against the Pens seems like a distant memory right now. How foolish I feel thinking that I'd see a repeat of that tonight.
-
Crosby had a great playoff even though he didn't have a great Finals series. Hossa was s***ty the entire playoffs. I'm not pinning the entire loss on him, I just think he underperformed more than anyone else did. And before you mention his name, Datsyuk should be blamed just as much. He was terrible the entire playoffs except for game 5 against the Pens.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but WTF happened to our PP in the last 2 games. Big chances at important times in the game, and they can't do anything but shoot the puck wide. Hopefully the PK and the PP will be fixed next season.
