There is no game 8. You realize that, right? I am calling the Wings out for lack of effort. This team has way too much talent to be playing like this in the biggest game of their lives. Pitiful display of hockey and fortitude. Now they're probably going to wake up when it's too late.

I'm losing a lot of respect for the entire team and the lack of effort that they've shown I hope they either get blown out or win this game. I don't want us to make one of our patented comebacks, and then fall short after pulling the goalie late in the game. The hell with this team's effort.

Lacksadaisical play cost our defense. Big surprise.

I never said the game was over for us, I just said we didn't have a great 1st period based on the shots we had. Too much play in our zone for it to be a great period.

We need Lidstrom to score from center ice here. That would destroy the Pens confidence and end the game on the spot.

A great 1st period is a period where you get more than 6 shots and more than 0 goals. That wasn't a great period for us. It was a great period for the Pens considering they were on the road.

We had 2 PP's at the end of the last game and couldn't capitalize. Say what you want about the refs but they gave us the chances in the last game to tie it up. I'm sure we'll get our chance sometime, we just have to be able to execute properly.

I was hoping this would be like game 5, where Ozzie wouldn't have to do much, but now it looks like he may need to steal this for us. Expect to see more PP's for the Pens.

We need to find a way to get shots through the Pens shot blockers. If the Wings aren't getting enough pucks on net, that means our screens and deflections are meaningless. The point men need to be better. They're taking us off our game now.

s***ty ******* period. Our defense is too carefree with the puck. Not enough urgency to get it out of the zone. Hossa proved once again why he's s***, and I'm glad the fans are booing him. He tries to take 3 guys at once, but refuses to make the simple play in front of the net. Unless we improve our play, our worst fears will be realized. This isn't what I expected from the Wings before this game.

Yes and yes. Lilja plays his best when he's physical and willing to drop the gloves. If he simmers down, then you're asking him to play below his top capability. When Lindros had enough concussions, he decided not to be as physical anymore, and pretty much became useless after that.

If his name is Andreas Lilja, and his opponents land a punch once every 8 fights or so, then yes.

The Wings are going to be a dominant team whether we win tonight's game or not. We've survived having to cut half our salary, and survived having Yzerman, Shanahan and Fedorov leave. We won't have to rebuild ever. We're not the Pens. What run is over? Your post was either a joke, or you haven't been following hockey enough to know that the Wings aren't going anywhere.

Guy dominates for several seasons, and now people are saying he shouldn't fight anymore. How about the Wings just enact a team wide policy, where any player who fights gets kicked off the team?

The Wings didn't start playing the other night until Draper's goal in the 3rd period. If that happens again, we may as well let the Pens have the Cup. We haven't really gotten off to a hot start in the first period of any game in this series. -

But that's why you don't want to leave it to a game 7. Who knows if bad luck won't be against us again, especially since the Pens always seem to get B.S. powerplays at the beginning of games. -

Hopefully we'll jump out just like we did against Chicago in game 4. I want to watch 80% of this game knowing that we have it in the bag. And if the Pens and their fans won't like it, they can kiss my ass. I've had enough of this suspense s***. They're lucky they even made it this far. -
It's a shame that so many great enforcers have had their careers shortened due to injuries. I hope he's not the next to go through with that.
