Maltby and Hossa will probably be gone. With everyone else, I think chances are greater than 50/50 that they return. Obviously, more than two guys will likely be gone, but those are the only two I'm confident about leaving.

Since the Columbus series, the Wings have, with a few exceptions, had trouble at getting off to good starts in games. It seems like in every game, the first 10 minutes or so involve Ozzie getting peppered with shots from all over, and then this team eventually wakes up at some point after that. Even the 5-0 blowout in game 5 was the same way. Bottom line, is that this team needs to come out on fire right off the bat in game 7, which is something we haven't seen much of since the 1st round. Also, we can't get into penalty trouble early on and rely on Ozzie to bail us out. I'm tired of us giving up the first goal so much and Babcock needs to do a better job instilling urgency in his team from the beginning. I think they will since it's game 7, but then I expected them to do the same in game 6, yet this team didn't start playing until the last 10 minutes of the game.

Stuart hasn't underachieved. Lidstrom has slightly underachieved in the 2nd half of the playoffs. I agree with you on Kronwall underachieving, and have already said so about Hudler, Datsyuk and Homer. However, Hossa has had the steepest decline. Who knows, if Pavel never got injured and continued putting up bad numbers, Hossa would have some company in the bashing department. But still, he's had 3 games out of 22 where he's scored a goal.

Datsyuk has underachieved in the playoffs. Ironically, the best games he's played were when he came back recently. I also think Kopecky has great upside as a physical forward.
-
Stuart has ovearachieved. Lebda has been pretty good. Ozzie has easily outplayed his regular season performance. Ericsson and Sammy have played better than what anyone expected. Zetterberg and Cleary have also been better than they were in the regular season. Enough overachievers for you?
-
What did I say in my post that you didn't agree with? Go ahead and prove to me that you're not Marian Hossa yourself.
-
If I'm not mistaken, the last five game 7's in the SCF all had the home team go up 2-0 at one point. Let's hope we see the same tonight. Did I say tonight? I meant Friday night. See, I'm already in non-sleep mode.

He's more important to us than anyone else who's currently underachieving. Homer and Hudler have been worthless, and Kronwall has been subpar, but they're not superstar players nor do they get paid as such. Nor are they playing against their former team.

I'll mind. We're at home with the Cup on the line. Let's see the Pens weather the storm for once in this series.
-
Yeah, that's exactly right.

It's obvious that you have the maturity and temper of an 8 year old who does steroids, so this will be my last response to you on this topic. Have fun taking on the rest of the crowd. LOL. I never thought I'd run into a poster that blames me for not being critical of more Wings players. That's a first.
-
What does it matter if I agree or not? Point is that the guy has been a big disappointment and has looked like an average NHL player as opposed to someone who has such a high salary and reputation. People are right to call him out and you need to stop making this into some big contest between posters.

15 points in 22 games isn't that good for a guy with his talent level. He's scored goals in 3 of the 22 games we've had this year in the playoffs. Stop making excuses for him already. I don't know what the major reason for the Wings troubles is in this series, but his play is certainly a contender for that category. This was supposed to be the series where he'd play like a man possessed to stick it to the Pens and their fans.

Game 4 against Chicago is the only one I can think of. In this series, we haven't been good in the first 10 minutes of any game. Too many chances given up against Ozzie, even when we've been able to do things on the scoring department.
-
OT would be a disaster. I've even thought about the possibility of it happening. That won't be good on the nerves. Also, I hope it won't be as close as our game 7 earlier against Anaheim. We were fortunate to win that game since we looked gassed in the 3rd.
-
I don't know how you guys can be so calm? I also think we'll win, but it's game 7 of the SCF for crying out loud. This is the one game of the year where we should all panic. Anything can happen Friday night. I just hope we score first, or else I'll probably flip out in front of my TV.

The thought of Cindy Crosby possibly skating the Cup at the JLA, with Bettman handing him the Cup is going to haunt me for the next couple of nights. I'd rather die than see that happen. I think we'll win the game, but all the pressure is clearly on us. We were up 2-0, and we blew the series lead. I hope our players, especially the younger ones can handle this pressure, because most people won't expect the Pens to win game 7 on the road. Also, this would be the worst loss in Wings history if we can't pull this off. Worse than 1942, and worse than anything in my lifetime.
-
If your'e not in the least bit nervous about a game 7 of the SCF, then you're a truly unusual person.
-
If we're talking playoffs, it's 2 years ago against Anaheim.
-
Are you dating Hossa or something? He does look like he either doesn't care, or he's playing with a concussion, in which case he doesn't even know what's going on during the games. I thought he'd be fired up in this series to stick it to his old team and their fans, but nothing of the sort has happened. He's only embarrassed himself more, and if we lose, others will laugh at him for his decision to switch teams to win the Cup.
-
Hopefully this game will by like the game in 2002. If I die of a heart attack, I won't be able to enjoy our Cup celebration.
-
We haven't had a good start yet in this series. Osgood is left out to dry at the beginning of every game. Also, the Pens get PP's at the beginning of every game and will likely have the same for game 7. Our starts have been terrible since the Columbus series.
-
Lidstrom is guy I'm looking for to step up. Seems like its' been forever since he did anything offensively.
-
If game 7 goes to OT, I will probably die of a fat heart attack. I also don't want to see a repeat of game 7 against Anaheim. That was practically an OT. Something close to our game 5 blowout is what I'm looking for. I'm a spoiled fan who wants us to coast during that game 7.
