The difference in the game right now is the officiating and the soft goal given up by Ozzie. That goal was Fleuryesque. We need to be better on faceoffs. We're being dominated right now, especially on the PK.
-
We suck on faceoffs in this game. We lost all 3 on that PK.
-
That's the fault of the Wings bench. They needed to alert the ref to that by screaming at him.
-
Crosby didnt' take either guy. He just stayed on the opposite side of the net. Pathetic.
-
Did you guys see Crosby lazily skate by and not even try to take Leino on that goal? That might be the worst effort I've ever seen a player make on a goal.
-
What is Crosby doing on that goal?
-
Lazy ass effort. Pretty much what I was afraid of.
-
If we lose this series, I heard there's a good chance he'll sign with the Penguins next year.
-
How come Sean Avery wasn't one of the nominees?
-
Actually, I never said I completely agreed with any of his reasons. I just said that people overreacted to it, much like you're doing to my posts in this thread. And what is it with you and Harlem? I've actually been there before and it wasn't so bad. Don't believe everything you see on the television.

How can the Wings be lucky when we're playing without our best player and the Pens just dodged a suspension to Malkin? The Pens have been very lucky, not the Wings.
-
He's just bitter that he's going to lose to us for the 3rd time in his career in the Finals.
-
His didn't just say we're going to lose and that's it. The guy did actually write out a list of reasons for why he thought the team was in trouble. I'm not surprised about the responses, just disturbed by how long a thread like this has gone on.

F**k the NHL. Those first 2 games are exactly what the Cup Finals should be about. Up and down action, 5 on 5 play, and minimal whistles to interrupt the flow and speed of the game. I guess it only made sense that the league wanted to worsen all that. Of course this favors the Pens, because our great 5 on 5 team defense can't do much if Crosby and Malkin have more room on the ice for the PP. It'd be nice if our PK didn't suck all year, but fact is that it does.

I'm saying that the guy was just posting his opinion on what he thinks will happen in the series. He wasn't trying to start s***, and he's not someone who joined yesterday as a Pens fan, yet people are acting like he was. You guys are overreacting too much to this thread, much like you did to my post.

I guess we now don't have to worry about who Draper will replace on the 4th line. This means that Leino will most likely be moved up to the 3rd line where he'll hopefully thrive playing with more skilled players. Still, Sammy's been great for us in the playoffs, and Draper is not likely to provide any offensive spark. If Datsyuk was back this wouldn't be a big deal, but he's not, so it is.

How could we be cheating when we're not even allowed to take faceoffs? Invariably, the refs always force one of our wingers to take a faceoff instead of the centerman.
-
The Pens need to put an enforcer in their lineup. Anaheim didn't and look what happened to them. If that doesn't work, then Lemieux should suit up for them in game 6. I don't know if there are any rules against that?

First off, the OP has a right to post this, since believe it or not this is a free internet forum. We haven't played that well, and there are some causes for concern, but the Pens have a lot more to be worried about right now. My biggest worries are about the Wings possibly coming out flat in game 3, much like they did last year against the Pens and this year against Chicago. Another concern is what will happen if the Pens start getting many PP's, where our team defense will be neutralized due to them having more room on the ice. As for the series itself, I don't see us losing. Nothing is impossible, but it's highly improbable.

It seems like Pens fans here want us to feel sorry for their team, or to acknowledge that their team is good. Most of their fans can't even acknowledge that the Wings won the first 2 games, or the Cup last year for that matter. I do think the Pens are a good team, but I don't think their style of hockey can beat the Wings. I even started a thread about it a few days ago. They're not a defensive minded team, because they think offense first. Those types of teams haven't had any success against us in recent memory.

Americans only care about sports that are American. The most common excuses is the stupidest. "I can't follow the puck". Anyone who says that line is automatically a moron, no matter what else happens the rest of their life.

The sad thing for you is that the Pens have played better, yet they've still lost both games yet again. And soft goals are the Pens fault. After all, Fleury is on your team, right? It's not our fault your goalie has been poor in the Finals against us the last few years. Somehow that gets interpreted as luck, as are the constant turnovers by your team. It's not luck, it's mistakes by Pens players (including a goalie), which lead to goals.

I can't ever remember a goalie playing this well for us in the past. In previous seasons, our goalie faced about 20 shots or so, and only had to make a few key saves. Now, we're getting peppered with 30 plus shots (which is a criticism of our defense), and the goalie is standing on his head. Bottom line is that I don't ever remember our goalie standing on his head like this to bail us out. We've had it happen against us many times in the past, but not for us. He's the Conn Smythe favorite right now. Crosby can kiss my ass with his performances in prior rounds.

Funny how this guy won't admit that his team turned pucks over on those so called "lucky bounces", and their goalie gave up soft goals no less. He should instead be blaming his star players for their laziness and his goalie for not being very good in the Finals yet again. Pens fans just aren't very smart and have misplaced thoughts as to why they're losing. Blame it on your team, not on bad luck.
