That's why the mods should close forum registration promptly. Unfortunately, it'll be too late to eliminate the few Pens fans who've already passed through.

If so, we're going to need the same kind of effort as game 5, coupled with some killer instinct. I don't believe we can win long term without him, thus we have to finish the series quickly, and hope for more rest. The longer this series goes, the longer Lidstrom will be missed. My heart can't take another game 7, especially knowing that the Pens are resting.

F*** you Carolina. The Pens didn't even have to try in this series in order to advance. Carolina could have at least made it somewhat difficult on the Pens or somehow punished them physically. This is why I wanted Boston to beat Carolina, because I knew they'd be a tougher matchup for the Pens, who avoided playing Boston twice thanks to Carolina. This was never a good matchup from the start.

Crosby has already won it. Bettman will probably forget all about the Cup, and skate off the ice hand in hand with Crosby, after awarding him the Conn Smythe.

At this point I'd be surprised if either of them plays. Our luck is just that bad with injuries. Hopefully, Pittsburgh will also have their best forward and best defenseman injured, to even the odds.

In a few years, there will probably be about a dozen total Russian players left in the NHL. I hate the KHL, and wish their league would go under somehow.

My 2nd favorite player ever, and a guy who should have finished his career in Detroit. I sense a Fedorov Hall of Famer thread coming soon.

Draper out game 5, Nick and Pavel Day-to-Day

Damn. Everytime someone on our team is listed day to day, they wind up not playing. Maybe it's a good idea that the SCF start on June 5th after all. -
Funny, the things he says are exactly what I want us to do to the Blackhawks players.

Avs offer Head Coach, GM position to Patrick Roy

I hope everything this man tries fails for the rest of his life. I hate this s***bag. -
The Wings have way more depth than the Pens. The fact that we made it this far in the playoffs without getting good production from Datsyuk or Hossa (our 2 best forwards in the regular season), shows that the Wings are a deeper team. If the Pens best players struggle like that, their team is finished. The problem with this whole thread is that it's a recycling of the same ideas that last year's Pens fans made. They are overconfident, even though their team hasn't won anything yet, other than the whopping Prince of Wales trophy. I could swear that Pens fans either don't remember or don't want to admit that they lost to the Wings last year. They're actually buying into those Versus commercials showing them beating us last year. What morons.

Why can't this league do anything right? I just hope we can finish Chicago off quickly, or else these back to back games could become a problem.

Pens fans are missing the point in many situations. Yeah you've scored more goals than us. How is that different than last year at this point? How is anything the Pens have done different than what happened last year? Yeah, Datsyuk is playing like crap. However, the fact that we've made it this far with him playing like crap or not playing at all should scare the s*** out of opposing teams. How far would the Pens get with their best forwards playing like s***. Imagine if Datsyuk starts playing like he's capable of. Anaheim would have given the Pens a tough series also, because if our great defense had trouble with that top line, imagine the Pens average defense having to face that same line. And the Wings will be just as good in the future as the Pens are despite having many veteran players. We handled Yzerman, Fedorov and Shanahan leaving, and it didn't phase the team. The Pens didn't handle s*** when Lemieux and Jagr left. It's not as well run an organization, although they do now seem to be turning it around.

Is Chelios injured, or does Babcock just hate the guy for some reason. In a blowout game, when our team needs to rest our defense, the guy gets basically no ice time. Why was he even dressed? At this point, Chelli is being treated like some fan who has never played in an NHL game before. I mean he's not that bad that he can't even play in a blowout is he? Also, I know there was lots of special teams in this game, but being up 4 and 5 goals, there's no reason he shouldn't have gotten more ice time. I'm kind of disappointed in Babcock for the way he's handled Chelli. This game is the ultimate insult to him that he won't even get time on the ice in a game that's completely out of control.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

The call on Walker was a B.S. call, but that's not the reason the Hawks lost the game. The game was already over by that point.

I just thought I'd have some fun with a topic that's been much debated here lately, namely the trouble some of our top forwards seem to be having at putting the puck in the net. Anyway, which of the players below will score next? It'll be fun to see which of us can predict this accurately. Hossa Holmstrom Datsyuk Fillpulla I pick Hossa. He's had the most chances lately and he's the best goal scorer of the bunch anyway. Also, I was going to make this into a poll, but I don't know how. I'd much appreciate it if the mods could convert it into a poll if it won't be too much trouble.

They're about the same size, so it wouldn't be that unfair.

Meech has been worse this season than Chelios. Just look at his plus/minus.

Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Congratulations to anyone who picked Hossa in this thread (myself included). The thread lasted longer than I anticipated, since I started it after game 1, from what I can remember. -
He's almost as overrated as Mike Green.
-
Why did you spell Babcock's name in such a suggestive fashion?
-
Because it was a blowout.
-
Not really, but now that you mention it, I only see it working if either Hossa or Franzen are on the other wing. Homer is not a top line forward at this point. Too many guys are outplaying him.

Versteeg should be more ashamed than Eager. This guy is as tough as a fluffy pillow, and yet he was acting like some enforcer out there. I actually thought Versteeg was kind of funny out there trying to look tough.
