WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6, at Blackhawks 1

Bad call, but Hank deserved it for making a bad decision with the puck. We need our leaders to step up right now without Nick. -

Stupid play by Zetterberg. Had a chance to clear the puck, and instead goes back behind his net for no reason. Dumb ass move. -
If Lidstrom is out any significant time we won't win the Cup. He's been our most important player for 10 years. And what do you know about clowns on this board? You're still a newbie as far as I'm concerned. We may win a game without Lidstrom, but not the Cup. That's ultimately all that matters. There's nothing wrong with thinking ahead when something like this happens. As long as the fans and not the players are doing it, it's O.K.

Game, set, match. We couldn't beat a pee wee team without Lidstrom. We saw that last year when he was out.

Last year Pens fans came here telling us all how the Wings hadn't seen anybody with the Pens offensive prowess before. Now they're coming back here to cry wolf again. These idiots will never learn their lesson. They have nothing that the Wings haven't dealt with before.
-
This is not good news for the Wings. The Pens may finish their series early and rest, while the series against Chicago may go a long ways now. That's why I was more upset about last night's loss than others around here were. I feel like we'll beat Chicago, but winning the Cup doesn't look so promising if we have to play a fresh Pens team. The Wings need to finish our series fast, or else we may be playing for 2nd place right now.

I think Datsyuk is a better player than Havlat, but in these playoffs it would be a wash between those players. What I'm saying is that not having Datsyuk shouldn't give the Wings any excuses as long as Chicago also doesn't have Havlat.

I hope Kronwall lays out Campbell tomorrow with that same hit. Little curly haired ***** complaining about a clean hit. Guy should be playing a different sport if he thought that was dirty.

How come we always have to be down by a few goals before we start playing? For much of the Anaheim series, and every game in this series, we not only get scored on first, but basically put Ozzie under the bus for about 10 or so shots, before we start playing. Babcock needs to do a better job lighting a fire under this team to start games off. No hitting and no intensity at all during these starts. It's become an annoying pattern.

This Team is Too Lazy at the Beginning of Games

Yes, it has been a problem since the regular season as has the awful penalty killing. Not a surprise that these factors have been the Wings two biggest weaknesses so far in the playoffs. -
This is kind of a bizzarre topic, since the Wings did not play a 60 minute game once again. The only A they should get for effort is in that 2nd period when they gave it all they had. By the time the 3rd period rolled around, the effort wasn't there anymore.

When you're consistently getting off to slow starts and allowing your goalie to get peppered with shots, that means there's something wrong with your team's mindset and preparation. It's happened enough times since the Anaheim series began, to not give credit to the other team for these slow starts. -

The high sticking was a valid penalty and could be attributed to lack of concentration at the beginning of the game. If we got off to a better start we wouldn't have been in that position and may have even killed off that PK. Instead, unsurprisingly, they scored on the first chance they had. Like I already said, we were down 2-0 before the penalty on Kronwall was even called. It was a bad start for the Wings. -
WCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 4 (OT)

We're equally matched in your own fantasies. You still haven't gotten over the fact you're not playing Vancouver or Calgary. A natural feeling considering how you've never seen your beloved team have any kind of real playoff run. It only follows that you'd overreact and overrate your team at the first sign of success. We've played you at 75% full power and were still a shot away from going up 3-0. Your team has played as well as you can. There is no higher level for the Hawks than what they've already shown. Unfortunately for you, it won't be enough. -

If we suck, you swallow. You haven't won anything since 1961, and won't win anything this year either. You barely beat us with one of our top 4 defensemen and our top line center not even in the lineup. -

I also think we'll win, but I'm not as confident, seeing how the Wings haven't played a complete 60 minute game for a long time now. This team has many issues right now with consistency, the PK, several players on long goal droughts, and of course Datsyuk's undisclosed injury. It's not all peaches. -

If the Wings played like they're capable of, being ready to play means we'd be jumping on the opposition just about every game. The first 2 goals occurred before Kronwall's penalty. The Wings didn't look ready to me until they had to kill of the 5 minute PK, by which point they were already down 2-0. That's exactly what I mean when I say that this team has to trail for some reason before they start playing hard. -
What's ironic is that he's had dirtier hits in the past that weren't even called penalties.

I like the first line. I'm sold.

Our season is clearly over. Bettman should award the Cup to the Pens tomorrow night. -

After the first period, the Wings got 3 straight PP's, and had plenty of opportunities to win the game. The refs did screw us in the 1st, but this loss is on the Wings. -

I knew there was a slim chance that we'd ever win two OT's in a row, in consecutive games no less. And I don't want to hear any more s*** about the Wings being a good 3rd period team. That's two games in a row now where they haven't shown up in the 3rd. -

What pisses me off is that we haven't had many games in the playoffs where we just come out with passion and energy, and take a multiple goal lead in the first period. We haven't done that since the Columbus series if I'm not mistaken. However, it's happened several times against us since. We were fortunate to win game 2 after quitting in the 3rd, but this time it didn't work. -
Ask Lilja to slap some sense into him. As I've said before, Hossa has been a playoff choker most of his career, with last year being the exception. In retrospect, his performance shouldn't be much of a surprise.

I heard that he's still asking everyone if they got the license number.
