Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
LGW bragging rights. What could be a sweeter reward than that? -
How dare anyone watch hockey while the great Kobe Bryant is playing?
-
What about Dave Schultz's 472 PIM season? Or the season where Probert scored 29 goals and had 398 PIM's?
-
He seems to play better when he fights. He needs to grab Burish in the next game and start wailing away. Also, as the poster above said, he misses playing with Lidstrom. Don't know about that bag of potatoes comment, though, because Bykov played with Lidstrom and that didn't turn out so well in the 2003 playoffs.
-
Ozzie isn't getting any younger, but at this point Turco is a liability coming off a bad season. I wouldn't go after him but I also wouldn't be surprised if Dallas moves him since they seem to like that Stephan goalie.

I like Abdelkalder's physicality. It's a good counterpart to Chicago's 4th line which likes to forecheck and run everybody. If Leino does play, he's not likely to be on the top 6 consistently. We need better balance in the lineup and Abdelkalder gives us that balance with his grit and hitting. If we're bringing Leino up to help us score, then we're really in trouble since we have so much offensive talent already. Like I said earlier, the guys already in the lineup are going to have to put the puck in the net with whatever line combos Babcock uses. Leino isn't necessary.
-
I also don't understand the obsession with Leino. All of a sudden people are suggesting that this minor league player should play in the top 6! Unbeilivable. Bottom line is that too many top forwards right now (Pavel, Homer, Flip, Hossa) are unable to put the puck in the net. If these players don't step it up, no kind of line combos are going to help. Babcock can't make these guys score with coaching. They'll have to do it themselves. However, putting in Leino is not the solution. The answer has to come from who's in the lineup now.
-
If our top line played better, we wouldn't have to eke out a 7 game series against Anaheim. There's no reason to make these series' any harder than they need to be. If Datsyuk and Hossa were producing half as well as they did in the regular season, we would have beaten the Ducks in 5.
-
Holland should trade Datsyuk right now. Right in the middle of the playoff run (if that's allowed). Then he can go back to Russia and get his body back from Igor Grigorenko.
-
It would help if we didn't have 4 forwards on our team who's last name starts with H.
-
You're forgetting that Hossa was one of our 2 best forwards this season. His struggling right now is no better or worse than what Datsyuk is going through. By your analogy we may as well get rid of Pavel in the offseason.
-
On the bright side, NBC did a great job of marketing Crosby during the game. I was afraid that some nude pictures of him would suddenly pop up on the screen right in the middle of our game.
-
Read my post above and read my other post in the topic about Sammy as far as giving him more responsibility. He doesn't belong on the top line, and neither does Homer right now. Hank's line has to be split up, not because they're playing poor, but because our other top 3 forwards are nonexistent right now.
-
He plays well 5 on 5, but on the PP he still annoys the hell out of me, especially when his shots are constantly getting blocked. He just looks lost out there on the point and rarely makes the right decision. He belongs on the 3rd line where he can only do good. Give him more responsibility and that's when people start bashing him the most.
-
There's no way to get these 2 players scoring without splitting up the Zetterberg line. Babcock needs to find the ideal line combos where all these players are not going on long stretches without scoring. So far he's been unable to do it because Pavel and Hossa and even Homer haven't scored in what seems like forever.

WCF GAME 1 GDT: Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 5

Imagine how we'll feel if we have to play against him and his whining tactics in the Finals again. -

Like I said earlier, he should be playing with Franzen. I don't think playing with Hank is going to help him, because it hasn't worked so far when Babcock has tried it. I'd be nice if Datsyuk could get it going on the PP, but he can't seem to do that either right now. -

No. He and Toews decided to stay home and play video games instead. -

That PK of ours is what resulted in the Ducks series going 7 games. We have to be better in this series if we're to advance. 5 on 5 nobody can handle us. -

Chicago won't win a game in this series if they continue to play up and down hockey with the Wings. What they and their dumb ass fans don't realize is that the Wings aren't the same as Calgary and Vancouver. You can't beat us in a track meet. We had more odd man rushes in that period than we had the whole series against Anaheim. -

Babcock needs to split up the 1st line. All 3 of those players can't score right now, so it makes no sense to put them together. Datsyuk should be playing with Franzen right now. -
Great news for me. Bad news for Brett Lebda and Patrick Sharp.
-
Doesn't Lidstrom play on the PK, where as you put it Anaheim did most of their damage? A lot of those goals were scored because guys were uncovered in front of the net on rebounds and passes. That's been a problem all year actually.
-
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Crosby and Oveckin are the 2 best forwards in the game today. They'd succeed in any conference in any style of hockey. It's not like they're not accustomed to playing tough, physical opponents.
-
Because we're fans and not players. We don't have to show the Ducks' players any respect, especially since there's no way we can. It's not like they read this website. The premise of the argument in this entire thread is ridiculous and makes no sense
