So what's the deal with game 5? Is the NHL going to f*** the Wings and not televise this pivotal game?

How dare they call penalties against us after the last game? It should be a penalty free game for the Wings the rest of the way. Also, these line combos aren't going to help us with our s***ty PK. Let's hope we have that problem fixed.

Instant offense as soon as we make line changes. Big surprise, since I've been calling for it since the middle of those OT periods.

THe Wings look content right now with having won the Cup last year. They don't look like a team that's all that willing to repeat. It's almost hard to envision us scoring another goal in this series if we keep taking shots from 50 feet away and missing the net wide each time.

No problem. I wasn't insulting you, I was insulting the everyday American who doesn't watch hockey because he can't follow the puck. Vancouver did give the league good ratings in 1994, but that was an epic final and hockey was more popular then, more so than it is now in the U.S. The league is still rebounding from the lockout and last year was a good Finals for the NHL. They need to keep up that momentum. However, as I said in my original post, this is still premature thus we may see the original 6 teams advance. I was just theorizing with this thread as to the possibilities that may occur.

Dumb ass, casual American sports fans don't want to see markets like that in the finals. People who want to see hockey succeed in the states realize that any team other than Detroit or Chicago to advance out of the West would not draw ratings for the league.

THis is where the NBA is smarter than the NHL. The NBA rigs it so that certain teams will advance to the Finals through officiating help (Lakers). The NHL does the opposite and allows the referees to screw over its best teams (Wings last game). Bottom line is that Bettman needs to make sure the Wings, Blackhawks and Bruins advance. Pens/Capitals is a wash either way so the league would benefit either way for either of those teams to make it.

I think it's funny how people want to see Leino (a skilled player) playing on the 4th line. Our 4th line needs someone alongside Helm to throw hits and stir s*** up out there. Leino isn't going to be the guy to do it. Like I said before, if Leino can't crack the top 3 lines, he shouldn't be on the team as of yet. We don't need a skilled Euro on the 4th line, unless his name is Igor Larionov in his final years in Detroit. I want to see more energy guys that will come out hitting right off the bat, and not when we're down 2-0 midway through the 2nd period.

Yeah, but last time we were in this position, we had a GOD named Bobby Lang on our team who could score clutch goals. He's no longer here.

Read my post above. It's not panic, it's simple coaching and making adjustments. I don't remember us posting 100 points in the regular season by playing the exact same line combos the whole 82 games.
