Franzen and Holmstrom are trying to compete with Mike Brown for dumbest player of the game award. We were in control before those 2 penalties, and now we have to kill another one off. Nice going guys.

Except then we already knew that Kronwall and Schneider wouldn't be playing. This, however, was a surprise that not many people foresaw considering how the team had a week off.

I wouldn't say it's no big deal. Our PP will look like s*** with him out of the lineup. Not to mention he's one of the 10 best defenseman in the league offensively. Seriously, we had a week off since the last game and I don't remember him getting injured then. Did he get hurt in practice or something? Yesterday I remember reading that he was expected to play tonight. I like Cheli on the 3rd pairing, but this moves up guys who aren't ready yet to handle bigger responsibilities. We may even see Sammy getting more PP time out of this.

I'm rooting for Chicago. I want to see 3 original six teams in the semis. The last thing the league needs is a Vancouver/Carolina final.

There was a thread on this about a week back. Yes, it is very embarrassing, but the NHL is a pathetic league so I'm not surprised. They might as well show a doctored video of Crosby holding the Stanley Cup.

I'd love to see Kronwall lay out Corey Perry with a huge open ice hit. Then we can all enjoy seeing that blabbermouth crawl and stumble his way to the bench, much like Avery did when Fedorov hit him a few nights back. Honestly, I don't know why Kronwall was so eager to lay people out last year, but seems timid now. It seemed like every game last year he would deliver a big hit, but it hasn't carried over into this season.

I wish I could say the same. Maybe I should move to Detroit just for the playoffs. The late starts don't bother me, since I'll be done with finals this week, and in the past that has been a problem in just about every playoff year.

You're wrong on this. The Wings are the most popular team in America. I dare you to travel around the country and find people wearing Pens and Capitals jerseys the way you'll always see WIngs jerseys being worn. The league is in denial. Gary Bettman is in denial. The Wings = ratings and have shown so in the past. When the Pens have legions of fans following them game to game, then I'll say differently.

The NHL is a joke. Not televising the last 2 Stanley Cup champs playing each other is laughable. I hope the game is being streamed online somewhere like the last two Columbus games were. F*** you Bettman.

The Canes/Devils series was the best series of the playoffs, bar none. That series saw all kinds of wild finishes and overtime games. Unfortunately, I think this gives Boston an easier matchup than what they would have had against the Pens. I don't see Carolina beating them. Also, what's with Brodeur sucking in the playoffs the last few years?

If Pittsburgh plays Washington, you can forget about seeing any other games that are on that night. Well, it looks like that's exactly what will happen. Pray that the Wings are scheduled on the other nights.

I hate Bettman and his Penguins. If we only get up to 4 games in this series despite it being the 2nd round, it'll be even more embarassing than what happened the last round. Detroit/Anaheim will be the most exciting series so far in the playoffs. This is a huge mistake by the league if they decide to minimize Wings coverage. Anyone know why the NHL network shows many games in the regular season but not the playoffs?

They should throw the entire team into Pelican Bay or San Quentin. Also, the GM should be forced to commit seppuku. Other than that, I don't think they should make any big changes.

It seems like the Ducks aren't as tough physically as they used to be. Parros is pretty much the only real tough guy that they dress anymore. Guys like Thornton, Moen, May, etc. are no longer there.

ESPN is the devil. It seems like they talk about everything except hockey, even if it isn't sports related. Pretty soon they'll be showing dungeons and dragons on ESPN.

We'll be fine as long as the Penguins don't play at that exact same time.
