I would bench him. Howard is this team's best chance to get points right now. Mrazek needs to work on his positioning with some goalie coaches. His fundamentals are poor and shooters are picking up on that around the league.

Mrazek out of position again. I'm sorry to say this, but I don't see us winning the Cup this season with Mrazek as our goalie. Hedman is a left handed shoter.

It's very, very unusual for a right handed defenseman to play on the left side. Joe Corvo is the only player I can think of that did that predominantly. Likely because teams are always looking for right handed defensemen to play on the right side. Whereas, left handed defensemen playing on the right side are common.

Three years is very soon. I'd be willing to strangle puppies if it meant the Wings winning a Cup in three years. But I wouldn't be OK with missing the playoffs for eight straight years just to win another Cup. Would be a miserable eight years.

If we're assuming tanking will equal Cup (and that assumption is the whole point of this thread), then I'm still choosing option one. Tanking for 8 years would suck. All the posts about how tanking doesn't necessarily equal a Cup are pointless. We're talking hypotheticals here. So would you guys be willing to tank if you knew we'd win another Cup in 10 years? I wouldn't.

I think the league got used to both of those players and their tendencies. They're not complete players like Datsyuk and Zettereberg were and are easy to knock off the puck. Blashill is not responsible for Nyquist and Tatar not blossoming. I am, however, disappointed in Marchenko and DeKeyser not seemingly improving. It's easy to blame the coach, but I'm thinking this forum just likes to overrate our prospects too much.
