If not for guys like Downey, Mac and Drake, this team wouldn't have even gotten to the Finals to play against Pittsburgh. The team's overall toughness was due in part to guys like Downey who the team fed off of for physical play all season. Otherwise, we'd have been as soft as pudding in the playoffs like in prior years. He was one of the catalysts for physical play. You're just another one of these anti-enforcer people who point out stupid stats like Downey's -5 in the minors, disregarding the fact that our 4th line wishes right now that it could be at -5 on the season. And don't tell me about taking roster spots from great players. Our 4th line has no skill on it right now. Kopecky has had his time to develop. Having balls is not something you can develop at his age at this point in his career. It may be possible that your second post on this is was even more uniformed and ridiculous than your first. Please don't try a third post about Downey's uslessness, lest you embarass yourself further.

Trade for Mathieu Dandenault. Seriously, though, trading for a big, physical D-man would be a good idea. Trading for a goalie will be a little bit harder, but everyone around here treats Holland like a God, so he better come up with something good. This roster as you see it will have a hard time turning on that switch come playoff time. It doesn't come that easy as the Ducks found out last year. Don't forget that 2002 was the last time a team who won the Cup the previous year went to the 2nd round of the playoffs that following season.

The goaltending situation is definitely scary right now. Conklin looked like he might be the guy earlier, but tonight it looked like he couldn't stop a pillow from getting into the net. Ozzie has looked like s*** all season, so we can't count on him. Optimism isn't the same thing as dumb blind faith. To say that everything is fine would be ignoring all the problems that this team has had defensively and in net this season. Sure we've outscored teams and have a great record, but in the playoffs it'll be hard to score 4 and 5 goals every game. Something needs to be done, because it's not going to fix itself.

The fact that people are upset when their team gets humiliated in this sort of fashion to a division rival doesn't mean they're fairweather fans. Since everyone has forgotten him, I'll mention Sammy. He still does annoying s*** on the ice from time to time, but he's impressed me more this season than in other years.

Osgood Kronwall Fillpulla Zetterberg Draper Kopecky's not really a surprise, since I knew he'd suck. The other guys I expected more from. I also didn't expect a lot of points from Cleary, so I don't know why people are calling him a disappointment. He really overachieved during the times when he was putting up tons of points.

Get it done Kenny! There's a good chance the Devils will make the Finals this year, so Avery could be a useful player in order to get Brodeur off his game like he did last year in the playoffs.
