Glenn Hall. The guy's a HOF goalie, but people always forget that he was once on the roster. They didn't need him though, with Sawchuk on the team.

From what I remember, he's fought guys like Bob Nystrom, Clark Gillies, Larry Playfair and others. Those are 3 of the 10 best fighters ever in the NHL in my opinion. So yeah, Barry was definitely a tough guy just for having the nerve to fight those guys. I've also heard that he is cousins with Wendel Clark and Joey Kocur, although I don't know how much truth there is to that. All 3 played for the Wings of course.

Conklin is inexperienced, but Ozzie has shown little sign of improvement this year. Conklin seems to have more confidence than Ozzie, and doesn't have as much pressure on him. It'd be nice if one of these guys took the job outright, but right now I can see why people are asking for a change. Who knows, maybe it'll light a fire under Ozzie to be benched.

If being last in save percentage doesn't mean that he sucks, then no one sucks. I don't see how else to judge your position. If Ozzie was middle of the pack, that's different. But the guy is dead last. There's no one who has a worse save percentage than him. I still say he deserves the bashing.

If by "whatever they want" you're referring to people saying that he sucks and needs to be benched, then yes there's nothing wrong with criticising him in that sense. I don't know about trading Ozzie, but benching him for Conklin isn't that ridiculous a suggestion. The guy is LAST in save percentage. How can that fact be treated lightly? As for Lidstrom, his +15 is pretty damn good, if he was last in plus/minus like Ozzie is in save percentage, then we could argue about him getting traded. Bad analogy there.

Why are people defending Ozzie? If he has the lowest save percentage in the league, he deserves to be bashed. A better goalie would have a higher save percentage even with the defensive breakdowns. In my opinion, save percentage is a more telling stat than GAA. People are just unhappy because this stat is a direct sign of how much their boy has sucked this year. Get over the bashing folks. It's warranted.

When you lose 5 games in a row, you have more than just your 4th line to worry about. The top players are the ones who need to get their s*** together right now. Then we can worry about the 4th line and killing (I mean benching) Kopecky.

The kid's a bum if you ask me. We've seen all we need to see from him.

Who would have thought after last year's playoffs that we'd be talking about trading Kronwall? Fact is, he's been inconsistent this year, and the big hits that he had in the playoffs have mysteriously vanished. He's not playing with that same confidence anymore.

You forgot to mention that he outplayed the rest of his team with his energy. Neither Kopecky, Abdelkader, or God himself could have changed the outcome of that game. We need more players to play as hard as Downey did.
