When was the last time they made it out of the 1st round? As far as I'm concerned, they're not for real until they prove it in the playoffs. Same goes for Montreal and San Jose. These teams don't have enough playoff success to be feared as opponents. Philly and Pittsburgh are the best playoff teams in the East they way I see it.

Funny, that's exactly what I want us to do to the Blues. Their fans are the turds of the NHL, though. Just look at their record in the last few seasons. I hope they continue to suck for a very, very long time.

The problem now is that there isn't enough pure goons in the NHL anymore. Now the guys doing most of the fighting are these middleweights, who happen to have some offensive talent. I'd rather see 2 heavies throw down than seeing Ott fighting Carcillo, or something of the equivalent.

He's done better than Kopecky has this season. Not bad considering how enforcers are all supposedly talentless thugs, as some people here so eloquently put it.

Reach is overrated. Remember Steve McKenna? Chara is too unwilling to be a great fighter. He's too important to his team.

Brassard has had quite a few fights this season, so it's not like he's some europuss who finally decided to drop the gloves. He's basically a more skilled version of Jared Boll. Chara is a ***** when he fights top enforcers. As soon as the fight goes against him, he wrestles his opponent down to avoid being embarassed. He'd get his ass kicked if he traded punches with a Boogaard or a Brashear.

I hope you're kidding with that crap. Based on that kind of reasoning the defense never plays bad. The idea is not to screw up so much and give up chances around the net like they did last night. The fact that they score on such chances is something the defense should be blamed for.

I guess we should have guessed the Wings would give up 3+ goals after just coming off a shutout. It would be too much to ask this team to have 2 consecutive games where they play solid defensively. It looks like Babcock has lost control of this team's ability to play well defensively. At this point the players are content with playing wide open offensive games as long as they're winning. The problem with this approach is that it doesn't tend to work very well in the playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Forsberg signs with them so that he can play with Sundin and the Sedin twinks. I predict he'll join their roster sometime around early March.

The Wings have won many Cups in recent memory, while the Sharks can't get out of the 2nd round. I still feel like there's nothing to worry about from the Sharks, since they're purely a regular season team. From what I saw last night, my opinion definitely hasn't changed. They're good, but they are still overrated, just because of how high some people tend to regard their team.

Sharks = Overrated team. I don't want to hear anymore about their great accomplishments. BTW, did Marleau or Thornton even play in this game? And where was that overrated midget Dan Boyle at? Their star players were completely erased tonight. It was beautiful.

Name me one thing Kopecky is good at? At least Downey is good at something, as you just mentioned.

Most teams in the league carry at least one enforcer and several other middleweights. How is the league changing again? In fact, fighting is up this year. And most of those enforcers are guys who don't score any more points than Downey does.

Their dismal stats are the basis for my statement, as others have already pointed out. How can you even argue that those guys have done nothing offensively? And why do you have to make stupid comments about Lilja? It's not my fault that he wins all of his fights convincingly.
