Sheldon Souray's face would probably agree with you there. This is par for the course though, since I've come to expect it with this team. It's sort of a miracle that Downey played as many games as he did last year, even with all the injuries. I was hoping he'd get the same chance this year but so far they've called up several others ahead of him.

People complaining about the lack of fighting and toughness have a right to complain, especially since Mac has been providing just about all the fighting this season. If anything, they should have replaced him with Downey, since he's a better fighter. Oh well. At least tonight is the night I've been waiting for, with Lilja being only hours away from dethroning the so-called champ and sending him to Sourayville.

Watching them on HNIC is pretty boring, because of their softness. Hell, I think the Wings may have more fighters on their roster than Toronto has right now. Say what you want about Burke, but he's the right man to bring this franchise back to respectability. Believe me, if they win a Cup like the Ducks did, Leafs fans won't care if he leaves another team in cap trouble like he did with Anaheim.

I hate to say it, but Kyle Quincey has scored 9 points this season in 15 games, and is logging over 20 minutes a night in LA. He's played outstanding, and is making the Wings look stupid for letting him leave for nothing. Yeah, I know we have a logjam on defense and that he's getting more minutes to put up more points, but the fact that he's handling these minutes with such stellar play and confidence shows that he has what it takes to be a good defenseman. For a team who has several undersized defensemen, we should have let someone like Lebda or Meech go. This could prove to be a bad move as time goes on.

You guys are being too generous to Draper. I know he's not a stats guy, but has he ever put up numbers like this? This is by far the worst season of his career up to date.

I don't want that to happen to me, for fear of my safety. A warrior would be a fighter who opens up a lot, with no fear of getting hurt. Say a guy like P.J. Stock or Bob Probert. Those guys were warriors. Laraque is a professional hugger who's great at throwing people down and punching them as they're falling to the ice. He's not quite a warrior.

Can you say, slip? Besides, that was before he became the PAIN TRAIN. Moen isn't that good a fighter anymore anyway. And who was it that called Laraque a "warrior"? That's just a hilarious description considering his fighting style.

Of course not. Lilja has not lost a fight in several years, while Laraque has lost several tilts in recent memory. That wrestling match didn't result so kindly to Sheldon Souray's face.

Lucic backed down tonight several times from Laraque, so what makes you think he'll have the balls to go with Lilja after what happened to Souray? He's young enough to be Lilja's son or his newspaper boy.

I was looking for him to get into another fight, but after seeing that punch that he dropped Souray with, we might not ever see Lilja find a willing opponent ever again.

I'm glad that Keenan pulled the goalie, letting us pad our offensive stats some further. This was one of the most blue-collar games the Wings have played all season as a team, especially since we had to rebound from blowing a 2-0 lead.
