Good for them that they've been developing a young goalie for the future. Oh wait, nevermind.
-
I just got back from school and was wondering what the latest news was. Has Kopecky been traded for Neil yet?
-
I'd love to have Laraque just to spite Penguins fans even more with Hossa and Conklin already being here. However, it made sense for Laraque to want to rather play in French Canada than in Detroit.
-
Maybe Kopecky might get one this year. The only thing stopping him is that he doesn't score goals, he doesn't pass well, and he doesn't fight.
-
That was sad to watch. Mac didn't lose the fight, but he did have Brown in a vulnerable position at one point, and couldn't capitalize. At this point he's basically a decent middleweight who can scrap, but don't expect many clean wins from him.
-
Why can't Kronwall develop a great shot from the point? Then he could be more complete as a D-man.
-
Great job by Mac standing up for his teammates. We've played better since that fight.
-
Grow up kid. Nobody cares what you think of me or my posts, least of all me.

I didn't know Madonna was still playing in the NHL. She's probably still mad about Tippett removing the captaincy and giving it to Morrow.

Very few hockey announcers aren't complete imbecile homers. The game is impossible to watch in those instances, unless it's on mute. Shane Hnidy acted like a little ***** fighting a non-fighter. This guy has limited his fighting in recent years, and now he pulls this crap. Ott and Avery are just pests and it's good to see them get beat up from time to time. However, they are good for the game, despite what others say. It adds some more excitement and spice.

Hudler's best play is not on the top 2 lines. The best he's ever looked was on the 4th line last year with Helm. I just don't see him as a top 6 forward.
-
Your love affair with Hudler has got to go. Every time he's on the 2nd line he fails miserably. Sammy isn't that great either, but at this point he's playing better than Hudler.

How useful was he before that happened? As for Babcock, he is a good coach, and it's too early to point any fingers at him for these problems. There's too many guys not hacking it right now, and several of them happen to be amongst our best players. They need to change things around and not Babcock. All he has to do is to find the right way to light a fire under them.
-
Don't tease me like that. To think of all those great fights us Wings fans could have witnessed from our 4th line.

How can anyone doubt Crosby's talent? In that interveiw, Semin made it sound like Crosby had the talents of a Josh Langfeld. Too many posters are letting their personal feelings cloud their reasoning in this thread.
-
Semin is a clueless idiot who sounds like some basketball fan when he talks about hockey. If he truly said these things, then he's a moron as is anyone else who doubts Crosby's talent and ability. My only problem with Crosby is his whining. His talent and ability shouldn't be questioned. It's one thing when ignorant fans on this forum question his ability, but when an actual player does it, it becomes mind boggling because I'd expect more intelligence from a fellow player.

Great photo of Lilja. Pictures like that back up my point of how other enforcers keep ducking him. Pure, physical intimidation.
-
My sources in New York tell me that Gary Bettman is on "suicide watch" right now.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing Downey get the extra 2 minute instigator for jumping Pronger, whether he wanted to oblige or not.
-
Having an enforcer is definitely important, despite what some other posters here might say, who nod their heads like mindless idiots to everything Holland has ever said or done. That said, if this defense and the forwards (who are often praised for their defense) don't start playing better, the Wings will end the season as one of the league leaders for most goals allowed. There's no defensive responsibility out there at all right now.
-
Not necessarily. Ivanans is a good fighter of his own, so he could have hung in with Lilja for a while, as long as he didn't try to open up with "PAIN TRAIN". Believe me, Ivanans can handle himself in fight, too, so he's not some ***** like you suggested in your post.
-
On just about every goal San Jose had a guy coming in off the puck who no one picked up. Whatever happened to all those great defensive forwards we have? Right now those guys look like they should be playing for the Atlanta Thrashers.

I went on NHL.com to watch the highlights of yesterday's game, and when I clicked on video above the score, I got the LA Kings video feed, and was mesmerized by the camera angles with which the game was shown. Likewise, I've seen a few Ducks games this year with the same unique camera angles, and it was the best hockey I've ever seen. Basically, none of the game is shown using that same primary center-ice camera that you usually see when you watch hockey. Instead, they use about 6 cameras, and the cameras basically follow play around almost as if you're on the ice with the players. It really puts you inside the game, and I think the league should show all its games this way from now on. It's hard to describe, but I hope this link works as evidence. If not, just go to "Scores" in NHL.com, and click on the video link of last night's Wings game. Video

I've seen the replays but didn't get a chance to watch the game. Was the controversial goal reviewed or not?
-
Not a great fight. They should either call up Downey, or have Lilja take on the big boys. Mac looked below average in that fight, but hey at least someone on this team is fighting.
